The Los Angeles Rams signed safety Quentin Lake to a three-year, $42 million contract extension on Thursday with $25.7 million guaranteed.

Lake has missed the team's past seven games after undergoing elbow surgery. Head coach Sean McVay doesn't expect Lake to return for the team's Week 18 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, but he could return during the playoffs after opening his 21-day practice window.

The 26-year-old is a standout in the Rams' defence. Through 10 games this season, he put up 61 tackles, 10 pass deflections, one sack, one interception, and one forced fumble.

His 10 pass deflections doubled his total last year despite playing seven fewer games. In 2024, he put up 111 tackles, which was tied seventh-most among his position.

The former sixth-round pick (111th overall) will look to help boost a Rams secondary during the playoffs, one that currently ranks 17th heading into Week 18.
