Wild 3-2 Avalanche
In a game that saw a total of 78 shots on goal, the Wild proved victorious as they ended the Avalanche's 10-game winning streak and extended their own to seven.
Nathan MacKinnon (19) got the Avs started out with a 1-0 lead heading into the second period, where Minnesota's own star Kirill Kaprizov (16) scored a pair of goals to put his Wild up 2-1 entering the third.
But with just under nine minutes to go in regulation, Colorado's Gabriel Landeskog (3), assisted by MacKinnon (22), tied it up to send the game into OT, where both teams failed to score.
Mats Zuccarello (MIN) and Martin Necas (COL) exchanged goals to start the shootout, but it was Matt Boldy who drilled the game-winner as Minnesota improved to 14-7-4, while the Avs fell to 17-1-6.
At 24 games with just one loss in regulation, the Avs would need to go 12 more to break the NHL record of 35 set by the Philadelphia Flyers during the 1979-1980 season.
Hurricanes 5-1 Jets
Seth Jarvis recorded his second-career hat trick after scoring his 13th, 14th, and 15th goals on the season.
Carolina outshot Winnipeg a whopping 35-13, the fewest shots from any team on Friday.
Jordan Martinook (3) and Alexander Nikishin (3) scored the other two goals for Carolina, who improved to 15-7-2, while Winnipeg dropped their fourth straight as they fell to 12-11-0.
Mark Scheifele (13) scored the lone goal for the Jets for his sixth point in the past five games.
Ducks 5-4 Kings
Over in California, the Ducks got back in the win column as they improved to 15-8-1 on the season.
Both teams exchanged two goals each as the game headed into the third period - let the chaos ensue.
Alex Turcotte (1) and Joel Edmundson (2) put the Kings up 4-2, but Pavel Mintyukov would cut the lead to 4-3 a few minutes later for the Ducks with his first goal of the season.
Then, with just over one minute left to play, Leo Carlsson (13) would let loose a snap shot to tie it up 4-4 to send the game into OT, where neither team surprisingly scored.
It wasn't until the shootout that Mason McTavish and Troy Terry would score the two needed to give the Ducks the win over their rival Kings, who fell to 11-6-7.
Flyers 4-3 Islanders
In one of the best games of the day, the Flyers got out to a 3-0 lead early on thanks to a pair of unassisted goals from Tyson Foerster (9) and Sean Couturier (4) before Trevor Zegras (8) scored on a power-play.
But the Islanders would rally back with three straight goals themselves, courtesy of Emil Heineman (10), Matthew Schaefer (8), and Anders Lee (5), whose goal Schaefer assisted on - all in the second period.
Schaefer became the first teenage (18) defenceman to score eight goals through his first 25 games, continuing his already historic season.
After a scoreless third period and overtime, Zegras and Travis Konecny proved clutch for the Flyers in the shootout as they improved to 13-7-3.
Islanders dropped their third game in the last four as they fell to 13-9-3.
Capitals 4-2 Maple Leafs
After Morgan Rielly (4) and Matthew Knies (6) put the Leafs up 2-0 in the first period, the Capitals would go on to score four straight goals as they improved to 14-9-3 on the season, extending their win streak to three.
Connor McMichael (4) and Anthony Beauvillier (5) would tie things up after scoring their respective goals at almost the same exact time in the second (McMichael) and third (Beauvillier) period.
Then Jakob Chychrun would put up his 10th goal of the season as he extended his point streak to 10 games to give the Caps the 3-2 lead before Tom Wilson (13) added some insurance with the empty-netter to finish the game.
Washington outshot Toronto 34-18 as the Leafs fell to 10-11-3.
Devils 5-0 Sabres
Despite outshooting the Devils 42-23 in one of the biggest differentials of the day, New Jersey goaltender Jake Allen was a brick wall as he earned his first shutout of the season and the 29th of his career.
Arseny Gritsyuk (6) scored twice for the Devils, while Nico Hischier (9), Brenden Dillon (3), and Paul Cotter (2) scored the others as they improved to an Eastern Conference-best 16-7-1.
Buffalo still sits at the bottom of the conference after they fell to 9-11-4.
Lightning 6-3 Red Wings
Tampa's Brandon Hagel has now scored at least one goal in the past four games and six in total as he put up his 13th of the season on an empty-netter to extend the Lightning's win streak to six games.
J.T. Compher (4) would give the Red Wings an early 1-0 lead before the Lightning responded with three straight from Darren Raddysh (3), Gage Goncalves (2), and Yanni Gourde (5), the latter of whom scored twice.
Michael Rasmussen (3) and Dylan Larkin (14) scored the other two for Detroit, while Jake Guentzel (13) scored the other for Tampa, who improved to 15-7-2.
Detroit dropped their third straight as they fell to 13-11-1.
Penguins 4-3 Blue Jackets
After Sidney Crosby put the Pens up 1-0, Sean Monahan (3), Brendan Gaunce (1), and Zach Werenski (9) scored three straight to put Columbus up 3-1 heading into the third period.
But the Pens rallied back thanks to a goal from Bryan Rust (7) and Crosby's (15) second of the game with over 11 minutes left in regulation.
Kris Letang (2) would score the game-winner in overtime for Pittsburgh as they improved to 12-6-5, sitting at fifth place in the Eastern Conference.
Columbus has now lost four straight and back-to-back in overtime. Their five losses in OT are more than any other team in the Eastern Conference as they fell to 11-9-5.
Flames 5-3 Panthers
Tell me if you've heard this yet in this article, but after the Florida Panthers got up 2-0 to start the game, the Flames rallied back with four straight goals of their own, the first coming from defenceman Yan Kuznetsov for his career first.
Kuznetsov played in one game for the Flames last season as his "technical" debut, but it looks like this will be his first full season, as he played in his 12th game.
MacKenzie Weegar would score his first of the season to tie it up 2-2 before Morgan Frost (6) and Nazem Kadri (5) doubled the Flames' lead heading into the third.
Brad Marchand (15) would cut the lead to 4-3 for the Panthers, but Calgary's Joel Farabee (7) scored an empty-netter to finish the job as the Flames improved to 9-14-3. Their goaltender Devin Cooley recorded 37 saves - the second most of his career (49).
The Panthers have now lost three of their last four games as they fell to 12-11-1.
Canadiens 4-1 Golden Knights
Unlike other teams on here, after the Canadiens got out to a 3-0 lead thanks to goals from Zack Bolduc (6), Cole Caufield (14), and Jake Evans (4), they would hold onto it for their third straight win.
Juraj Slafkovsky (7) scored the fourth for the Habs with an empty-netter, while goaltender Sam Montembeault put up 30 saves.
Despite being outshot 31-19, the Habs improved to 13-7-3.
Mark Stone's fourth goal of the season, and Vegas' lone one of the game, wasn't enough as they fell to 10-6-8.
Blues 4-3 Senators
In yet another comeback on Saturday, after going down 2-1 entering the third period, the Blues rallied with three goals from Jordan Kyrou (7), Pavel Buchnevich (3), and Matthew Kessel (2) all within the first 10 minutes of the period.
Oskar Sundqvist scored his first goal of the season for St. Louis, which got them out to a 1-0 lead, originally, before Shane Pinto (12) and Fabian Zetterlund (4) scored for Ottawa.
David Perron (3) scored in the third for the Sens to tie the game 3-3 before Kessel sent home what was the eventual game-winner.
St. Louis improved to 8-10-7 as the Senators fell to 12-8-4.
Rangers 6-2 Bruins
Artemi Panarin (8), Carson Soucy (2), which Panarin assisted on, and two goals from Mika Zibanejad (9) on the power play put the Rangers out to a 4-0 lead entering the third period that the Bruins failed to rally against.
Casey Mittelstadt (5) and Morgan Geekie (18) cut the lead in half to start the third, but Alexis Lafreniere (6) and Vladislav Gavrikov (4) responded with a pair to hand the Bruins their 12th loss of the season as they fell to 14-12-0.
The Rangers won their third straight as they improved to 13-11-2.
Sharks 3-2 Canucks
Despite a pair of goals from Elias Pettersson (8) and Brock Boeser (9), the Canucks lost their seventh game of the past nine.
Will Smith (8) and William Eklund (6) both scored a pair of power-play goals for San Jose. Macklin Celebrini recorded his 22nd assist of the season on Eklund's before Adam Gaudette (6) sent the Sharks' third and final goal of the game with just under five minutes left in the second.
Both teams failed to find the net in the third as San Jose goaltender Yaroslav Askarov finished with 32 saves. It is now his sixth game in 16 starts this season in which Askarov recorded at least 30 saves - he has four in the last six alone.
San Jose improved to 12-10-3, Vancouver fell to 10-13-2.
Stars 4-3 Mammoth
In yet another rally, the Stars would score three straight after the Mammoth went up 2-0 courtesy of goals from Logan Cooley (14) and Kevin Rooney (1).
Roope Hintz (8), Jamie Benn (2), and Jason Robertson (15) put the Stars up 3-2 before Jack McBain (2) tied it back up 3-3.
But Dallas' Wyatt Johnston (13) scored on the power play with just under two minutes left in the second period en route to a win following a scoreless third period.
Dallas improved to 16-5-4 as they've now won three straight. Utah fell to 12-10-3 after losing back-to-back.
Predators 4-3 Blackhawks
After Ryan Donato (8) put his Blackhawks up on the board first, Matthew Wood (7) and Steven Stamkos (6) gave the Preds the lead within the first eight minutes of the second.
But Chicago's Ryan Greene (3) tied things up 2-2 with the team's only power play goal (four chances) on the night.
Less than two minutes later, the Preds retook the lead thanks to a goal from Luke Evangelista (3). In the third period, Ryan O'Reilly (8) doubled the Preds' lead just over seven minutes in.
Teuvo Teravainen (6) scored halfway through the third to cut the lead to 4-3 for Chicago, but they couldn't rally again as they fell to 10-9-5 after now losing five straight.
Nashville improved to 8-12-4, but still sit at the bottom of the league standings.
