Freddie Freeman hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the 18th inning to give the Dodgers a 6-5 win over the Blue Jays in Game 3 of the World Series, a night where Shohei Ohtani put on another historic performance.

Ohtani finished the game 4-for-4 with two doubles, two home runs, one walk, and four intentional walks - reaching base all nine times he went up to bat - his seventh became the first time that's ever happened in a postseason game in MLB history.

Game 3 of the 2025 World Series saw over 500 pitches from 18 different pitchers - 10 from the Dodgers, which is a World Series record.

The Dodgers now have a 2-1 series lead over the Blue Jays. Game 4 of the 2025 World Series is scheduled for Tuesday, October 29th.

LA legend Clayton Kershaw received the signal to come into the game during the top of the 12th with two outs and bases loaded.

He ran the count full 3-2 on Blue Jays batter Nathan Lukes, who eventually grounded out to first on what was an extremely close play.

Full recap (innings 1-9)

Dodgers 1-0 Blue Jays

It didn't take long for the Dodgers to get things rolling after Shohei Ohtani put up a double in the first inning.

Outfielder Teoscar Hernandez sent a solo shot to deep left field in the second off Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Max Scherzer

Things got hectic at the top of the second inning prior to the Hernandez home run.

With Daulton Varsho at the plate with a 3-1 count, he took a high sinker at almost neck-level for what he thought was ball four. The umpire called a late strike two and the Dodgers would end up picking Bo Bichette off at first base because of it.

Varsho would eventually walk before teammate Alejandro Kirk would hit a single to advance him to third with two outs.

Toronto, who would've scored a run if Varsho had initially walked and Bichette had gone to second, ended the second inning with zero runs.

Dodgers 2-0 Blue Jays

After hit a double in the first inning, Ohtani hit a one-out solo home run to put the Dodgers up a pair of runs.

They had a chance to score another run, but Blue Jays right fielder Addison Barger gunned down Freddie Freeman at the plate for the final out of the third inning.

Blue Jays 4-2 Dodgers

After Bichette loaded the corners for the Jays in the top of the fourth with no outs, Varsho would pop up for the first out before Kirk launched a three-run home run take give the Blue Jays a 3-2 lead.

In the same inning, Andres Giménez would hit a sac-fly to put the Blue Jays up 4-2 before the inning ended.

Dodgers 4-4 Blue Jays

Both starting pitchers for each team were taken out before finishing the fifth inning. Tyler Glasnow went 4.2 innings, giving up four runs (two earned) on five hits with five strikeouts and two walks.

Scherzer was pulled after 4.1 innings, giving up three earned runs on five hits with three strikeouts and two walks.

Then chaos ensued.

Ohtani would hit an RBI double off Blue Jays' Mason Fluharty as soon as he came in to relieve Scherzer, giving the Dodgers a 3-2 lead.

Then, Mr. Clutch himself, Freddie Freeman, would drive in a run himself with an RBI single to tie it all up 4-4, scoring Ohtani from second.

Blue Jays would go to the pen again to bring in Louie Varland to finish out the inning.

George Springer injured

Toronto Blue Jays star George Springer left the game in the seventh after sustaining an injury on a foul ball. Ty France came in to replace him and would eventually strike out.

Springer immediately left the field and entered the clubhouse with Blue Jays trainers after he grabbed his lower left side.

Blue Jays 5-4 Dodgers

In the top of the seventh inning, after a Vladimir Guerrero single, Bichette would score Vladdy from first on an RBI single that ended on a bang-bang play at the plate.

The hit came off Dodgers reliever Blake Treinen, who hadn't pitched in 10 days.

Toronto would bring in Isiah Kiner-Falefa to pinch run for Bichette, ending his night.

Dodgers 5-5 Blue Jays

Shohei Ohtani joined Frank Isbell (1906) as the only two players in MLB history to record four extra-base hits in a World Series game after he launched a game-tying home run in the bottom of the seventh.

Ohtani would have two doubles and two home runs in four at-bats, along with three intentional walks, tying Corey Seager for the most home runs (8) in a postseason in Dodgers franchise history.

He also became the first player in MLB history with three multi-home run games in the postseason.

After Ohtani was intentionally walked in the bottom of the ninth, Alejandro Kirk threw him out at second on an attempted stolen base.

The following extra innings went scoreless until the Dodgers eventually won the game.
