In a shocking turn of events, Oregon quarterback Dante Moore has elected to forego the upcoming NFL draft for another year in college.

Moore was a projected top-three pick on many experts draft boards as one of the best of his position coming out of college.

The decision could cost Moore around $50 million in guaranteed money should he have been drafted at No. 2.

The Ducks recently brought in transfer quarterback Dylan Raiola from Nebraska, who anticipated a starting role with Moore, what looked like, on a clear trajectory to the NFL.

Moore will now be returning for a Junior season (red-shirt Sophomore).

Oregon recently took a 56-22 beating in the College Football Playoff semifinals from Indiana and their Heisman-winning QB Fernando Mendoza, who is expected to be the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft.

Moore threw for 285 yards and two touchdowns, but turned it over three times (two fumbles, one interception).

He ended his season with 3,565 passing yards with a 71.8% completion percentage, 30 passing touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.
