Macko, 25, has a 4.91 ERA through 22 games in the majors and a 4.09 ERA through 19 games in Triple-A this season. The former seventh-round pick in the 2019 MLB Draft is the first Slovakian player in league history.
Macko was originally drafted by the Seattle Mariners. He made his way through their minor league system, reaching High-A ball before the M's traded him in 2022 to the Blue Jays in a deal that sent Teoscar Hernandez to Seattle.
After spending the 2023 season in High-A, he would spend most of 2024 in Double-A, reaching Triple-A for one game before playing mostly at that level in 2025.
Macko has a career 4.55 ERA across all levels so far in his career.
Smith, 28, is slashing .213/.299/.272 with one home run and eight RBI this season, while Stephan, 24, has a 5.44 ERA through 101 innings in Triple-A.
