Jackson was immediately placed on IR after the game and will undergo surgery on his thumb. The details of what the injury was haven't been specified, but he stood on the sideline the rest of the game with a black cast.
Baltimore's two-time MVP got hurt on their first offensive play of the game after his thumb was hit during a pass from the pocket. It was his first game back after missing the last three-and-a-half with a high ankle sprain.
Ravens backup quarterback Tyler Huntley also left the game following a foot injury, leaving the rookie third-stringer Joe Fagnano to finish off the rest. All three quarterbacks combined were pressured on more than half of their dropbacks as their offensive line continued to be a major problem this season.
Fagnano was seen at one point having his ankle wrapped in ice packs on the sideline. If he couldn't play, running back Justice Hill would have been the emergency quarterback.
Baltimore dropped to 4-4 to start the season for the first time since 2007. They finished 5-11 that season, losing seven of their last eight games. Now, the Ravens are on a quick turnaround as they need to get ready for Thursday night's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars (5-2).
