Former Liverpool boss Arne Slot has reportedly turned down the Fulham role this week.

Slot led Liverpool to a trophyless campaign in which the side lost 12 league games and barely clung on to a Champions League spot, which was not enough to save him from being sacked.

The Dutchman was quickly replaced by Andoni Iraola, the Spaniard who led Bournemouth on a ridiculous unbeaten streak and to the Europa League in what is their first-ever start in Europe.

Now, as per the Daily Mirror and The Times, Slot has turned down the chance to replace Marco Silva at Fulham as he continues to weigh up his options heading into the World Cup this summer.

Reports have constantly linked him with the AC Milan job, a side that sacked manager Max Allegri a week before Liverpool swung the axe themselves.

Dutch football journalist Marcel van der Kraan also spoke on talkSPORT about Slot’s uncertain future: "If Ronald Koeman steps down after the World Cup… there is a vacancy at the Dutch national team. I think Arne Slot is very, very much up for that; he's probably the ideal candidate.

"He can play his Dutch style of football - the passing, attacking style, whatever you call it. I think the Dutch would be happy to have him."

Slot won 66 of his 113 matches in charge of Liverpool, and he is now in limbo ahead of the new season, where a move to the Serie A looks the most likely.
