GK: Andrew Redmayne - Central Coast Mariners (8.8)

How does he do it at age 37?!

The former Socceroo has been one of, if not the find of the season - certainly for the Mariners, with Redmayne picking up three Flashscore Player of the Match awards already this term. Two of them came in the last three rounds, this one for saving all nine shots that came his way.

LB: Ryan Kitto - Adelaide United (7.3)

In a fairly quiet week for defenders, with no defender in the league earning a rating of eight or above, but Ryan Kitto takes out the left-back position for a performance that included this backheel to set up Adelaide's opening goal. Straight off the training track.

CB: Marcel Tisserand - Sydney FC (7.7)

Tisserand recorded his third-best rating of the season, toepoking home Sydney's second goal from a goalmouth scramble in addition to clearing three balls and winning both of his individual duels.

CB: Scott WoottonPerth Glory (7.9)

The 34-year-old Englishman got his first assist of the season, propelling his rating up to 7.9, which was his best since October 2024.

RB: Callum Talbot - Macarthur FC (7.4)

Talbot was efficient by passing with 85% accuracy whilst making a game-high four interceptions as the Bulls held Adelaide to a 1-1 away draw.

LM: Jaiden Kucharski - Perth Glory (8.7)

Kucharski has made a very good case to be nominated as Player of the Week based on the impact he made on Perth's win over former ladder leaders Auckland, particularly for the entertaining flare and style demonstrated in both of his goals. Stats don't tell the entire story of a game of football, but a game-best 8.7 is still a great indication of the match that JK had.

CM: Lachlan Bayliss - Newcastle Jets (8.2)

The 23-year-old midfielder is working his way into a purple patch of form, following last week's career-best rating of 8.3 with an 8.2 in this round, courtesy of a brace in the Jets' second consecutive 4-1 win.

Bayliss passed with 82% accuracy, 83% in the final third, and added the icing on the cake with a stoppage time goal against the Roar.

CM: Tiago Quintal - Sydney FC (8.6)

The man Ufuk Talay affectionately calls 'T' hasn't quite lived up to his potential this season, but there have been glimmers of some of his best such as against the Mariners in early December.

In his first Sydney Derby start, Tiago recorded his first and his second A-League goals with the only two of his six shots at goal that were not blocked.

RM: Akol Akon - Sydney FC (9.1)

Talay also had high praise for 16-year-old Akol Akon, describing him as "fearless" after he had a direct contribution in three of the Sky Blues' four wins over his former club Wanderers.

Sydney poached Akol in the off-season, "one of Australian football's hottest young prospects" according to the club, and Talay "bit the bullet" during the week to throw him into the deep end as Sydney looked to arrest a bad run of form culminating in the embarrassing Australia Day loss to Melbourne Victory.

Now it'll be tough to force the youngster out when the likes of Al-Hassan Toure return from injury!

FW: Marcus Younis - Melbourne City (7.7)

20-year-old Younis could soon be offered the opportunity to start for the struggling City after goals off the bench in each of his first two appearances for the club, already exceeding the single goal he scored in ten appearances for the Wanderers in 2023/24.

FW: Eli Adams - Newcastle Jets (9.5)

An overseas move and potentially even World Cup squad selection could await young Eli Adams, who is looming as one of the leading contenders for the Johnny Warren Medal.

Adams has the fifth-best average rating (7.3 out of 10) in the competition with a minimum of eight games played, and whilst we have taken a little bit of creative liberty in pushing him into the front third to open up a space for natural right midfielder Akon, this is a role he has previously fulfilled for the Jets.
