Djurgarden are up to fourth in the Allsvenskan standings thanks to a comfortable win at home to Halmstad, who were unable to haul themselves off the foot of the table.

Djurgarden 3-0 Halmstad

A win for Orgryte earlier in the round had seen Halmstad drop to the 16th and final place, while losses for Hacken and Elfsborg had left the door open for Djurgarden to not only reach fourth, but move to within a point of the European places.

It was a chance the Stockholm side grabbed with both hands, going ahead in the 28th minute when an attack down the left resulted in pinball in the heart of the Halmstad box, before Piotr Johansson's shot was saved and the rebound was turned in by Bo Hegland.

The right wing was Djurgarden's attacking area of choice for their second goal on the stroke of half-time, but the end result was the same. This time, Johansson fired over a low cross which Hegland buried at the near post for his fifth league goal of the season.

The points were sealed before the hour mark, when Oskar Fallenius threaded a pass through to Kristian Lien, who managed to slot the ball home despite a narrowing angle and the presence of the on-rushing goalkeeper. It's a third goal in two for the Norwegian, who takes his tally to seven for the campaign.

It's back-to-back wins for Djurgarden since the return from the summer break, while Halmstad have lost three in a row and conceded 11 in the process, as they stay four points from guaranteed safety.
