There is still the Carling Knockout final on Saturday, where Orlando Pirates face Marumo Gallants, and Kaizer Chiefs are scheduled to visit TS Galaxy in the league on Sunday. After that, it’s a wrap for 2025.
No one will want to head into the break on a low, so these matches offer a chance to finish the year on a positive note.
Siwelele vs Mamelodi Sundowns
Mamelodi Sundowns will be looking to regain top spot in the Betway Premiership when they travel to Bloemfontein to meet Siwelele on Wednesday, needing a win to overhaul new leaders Orlando Pirates.
Sundowns have 25 points from their 12 games to date, three behind Pirates, and both sides boast a +13 goal difference, meaning any victory will take The Brazilians back to first place. Sundowns have been a little patchy on the road recently, with three wins in their last nine away games, though they have suffered only one defeat, at Lamontville Golden Arrows in September.
Remarkably, that was their last away league fixture. Their previous away league win came in August. Siwelele have been solid at home, with three wins and two draws from seven matches, their two losses coming against Polokwane City and Pirates.

Chippa United vs Kaizer Chiefs
Kaizer Chiefs head to struggling Chippa United on Wednesday hoping to close the gap on leaders Pirates to just three points, a remarkable turnaround for a side that has struggled in the league in recent seasons.
Chiefs have a healthy 22 points from 11 games, while bottom-placed Chippa have collected only eight from 14 and will hit the halfway mark of their campaign after this fixture.
Chippa’s form has been dire, with goals a major issue; they have not scored in over six hours of football and have just one win in their last 22 matches (D8 L13), clear relegation form.
Magesi vs Sekhukhune United
Sekhukhune United made an excellent start to the season but have hit a familiar stumbling block under coach Eric Tinkler, who often struggles to halt a slump once it begins.
They collected 19 points from the first 21 available but have taken only three from the next 15 and are winless over that stretch. The big problem is their lack of goals, and Tinkler may need a Plan B as opponents have seemingly figured them out.
Wednesday’s hosts, second-bottom Magesi, are winless in four (D2 L2) but have won their last two home games against Siwelele and TS Galaxy.
Stellenbosch vs Polokwane City
Stellenbosch FC return from a well-earned point in their CAF Confederation Cup fixture away at Singida Black Stars on Sunday, though they conceded a late penalty that denied them victory.
The result extends their unbeaten run to three games (W2 D1) after a difficult start to the season that has left them third from bottom. They are undoubtedly a better side than their position suggests.
On Wednesday they host Polokwane City, who have enjoyed a solid campaign and sit seventh with 20 points from 13 matches. Polokwane are poor travellers but did manage a surprise 1-0 win at AmaZulu last time out, almost a month ago. They have never won away at Stellies, with one draw and three defeats.
Lamontville Golden Arrows vs AmaZulu
AmaZulu face another KwaZulu-Natal derby when they make the short trip to Durban rivals Lamontville Golden Arrows on Tuesday, coming off a 2-0 loss at Richards Bay this past weekend.
Golden Arrows are winless in three (D1 L2) after a strong run and have just one win in their last six meetings with Usuthu (D1 L4). In fact, five wins in their last 17 home clashes against AmaZulu (D3 L8) makes for grim reading.
