Mamelodi Sundowns have completed the signing of Colombian forward Brayan Leon and TS Galaxy defender Khulumani Ndamane, the club confirmed on Monday.

Leon follows Monnapule Saleng into the club having arrived from Independiente Medellín for an undisclosed fee.

Born in Turbaco, he made his debut for Deportivo Pereira in 2021 and helped the club to the 2022 Colombian championship as they edged out his current side Independiente Medellín.

Leon moved the following season to Atlético Junior, but it proved a wrong fit and he did not score a single goal in 18 appearances, before making the switch to Independiente.

He received 20 yellows in 34 starts in the Colombian league last season, which should be a red flag, but he also managed 13 goals in those 34 league starts (and 40 appearances in all), and that is what Sundowns fans will want to focus on.

Meanwhile, TS Galaxy on Monday bid farewell to centre-back Khulumani Ndamane, who was later confirmed as well by Sundowns.

“Thank you, Khulumani Ndamane, for your professionalism, commitment, and passion during your time with us,” Galaxy said on X. “You represented the badge with pride and gave your all on and off the field. As you take this next step in your career and join a new club, we wish you nothing but success and continued growth.

“Once a Rocket, always a Rocket. All the best in your new chapter.”

Ndamane, 21, was a product of the Kaizer Chiefs youth structures before leaving for Galaxy in July 2024.

He was an instant hit for The Rockets, working his way into Bafana Bafana’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations squad.

He made 43 starts in his 18 months at Galaxy, and will compete for a place in the centre of defence at Sundowns, where several of their players are entering the twilight of their careers.

Sundowns are in action next Monday when they resume their Betway Premiership campaign against Orbit College. They trail leaders Orlando Pirates by two points and have played a game more.
