It was a big night at both ends of the table with some key results and upsets.
Here are the talking points from the five matches played.
Job done in Polokwane
Orlando Pirates were 2-1 winners in the pouring rain in Polokwane and stay on top of the league as Patrick Maswanganyi’s goal in the final minute of ordinary time proved the difference.
Pirates had taken the lead via Relebohile Mofokeng on 52 minutes. It is another sign of his resurgent form too, which has come in the nick of time for Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos, who has a real problem in that attacking midfielder position going into the World Cup.
It was a high-energy contest in Limpopo in which Pirates created numerous chances but were pegged back when Bonginkosi Dlamini equalised for the hosts four minutes from the end.
Oswin Appollis was a constant threat against his former side, showing what an accomplished player he has become.
No team has taken more points away from home (23 in 10 games) than Pirates this season, whose +23 goal difference sees them edge Mamelodi Sundowns (+22) in the table.

Sundowns hold on
Ten-man Mamelodi Sundowns had to hang on grimly to secure a 2-1 victory over Lamontville Golden Arrows, their sixth league win in a row.
Teboho Mokoena got the opener with a trademark strike from the edge of the box that flew into the back of the net, before Iqraam Rayners headed in a second.
It is a third goal in two matches for Rayners, who is back in the side and back in form, just in time too with the World Cup looming.
Golden Arrows forward Sede Dion pulled a goal back from the penalty spot to move clear in the Golden Boot race with a 10th goal of the season, but Manqoba Mngqithi’s side could not find an equaliser.
Jayden Adams was sent off three minutes after Sundowns’ second goal with a straight red card.
It was still a good victory for Sundowns on the day Miguel Cardoso won Coach of the Month.

Sekhukhune get late draw
A late equaliser from Tshepho Mashiloane earned Sekhukhune United a 1-1 draw with Durban City in a battle between third and fourth in the table.
City looked set to leapfrog their visitors after Saziso Magawana had them in front with his second goal in as many games, but the KwaZulu-Natal side could not hold on.
Sekhukhune now trail the front two by 11 points, having played a game more, meaning we are now most certainly in the ‘two-horse race’ category for this season.
The rest are playing for the CAF Confederation Cup qualification place next season.
Huge three points
Marumo Gallants rallied from a goal down at half-time to defeat hosts Chippa United 3-1 and claim a precious victory that leaves them outside the bottom two in the table.
Gallants had suspended French coach Alexandre Lafitte this week and, with co-coaches Matome Mathiane and Julien Outraben in charge, ended a run of seven straight losses in all competitions.
It did not look like they would in the first half as Harold Majadibodu put Chippa in front, but Gallants roared back in the second period.
Goals from Phillip Ndlondlo, Msindisi Kunene (his first career strike) and Mohamed Doumbia (his first in the PSL) secured a massive three points for troubled Gallants.
Usuthu held by Magesi
AmaZulu will be kicking themselves after they were held to a 0-0 draw by bottom side Magesi FC in Durban, finishing the game with 10 men.
Two yellow cards for their seven-goal Zimbabwean striker Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya meant Usuthu played the final 20 minutes with a man fewer.
Magesi actually had more chances at goal, but neither side came all that close in a dull encounter in Durban.
