Christian Eriksen says in an interview with Viaplay that he never contemplated ending his career over the summer.

After a long wait, Christian Eriksen finally found a new club when he signed a new contract with Wolfsburg on 10 September.

Before then, several months passed during which there was a lot of speculation in relation to the Danish international playmaker's further career.

Among fans and experts, it was discussed whether Eriksen contemplated ending his career following his spell with Manchester United.

In an interview with Viaplay, however, Eriksen denies all speculation. "I never had any consideration to end my career. I still have a lot of football to play. I love to play. My football adventure is nowhere near the ending now", says Christian Eriksen.

During the time without a club, Eriksen trained with Malmö FF to keep fit.

But it wasn't speculation about his possible career-ending that prompted Eriksen to train with the big Swedish club.

"No, it was really just to get out and touch a ball. It wasn't to stop speculation. It was really just to show and get a feeling that you are still part of the football world. That was one of the reasons."

Christian Eriksen is expected to get his debut for Wolfsburg on Sunday evening when they face Borussia Dortmund at Signal Iduna Park.
