Tuesday, March 4th

Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid - 21:00 CET

Eternal rivals Real and Atletico Madrid go head to head in what promises to be potentially the most fiery contest in Europe this week.

The sides famously met in the Champions League final in 2014 and 2016, with Los Blancos breaking Atleti hearts on both occasions.

While Real struggled at the start of the season and were forced to play in a playoff match with Manchester City to book their spot at this stage, they have started to pick up a bit of a steam, with Kylian Mbappe finally settling in the famous white shirt.

Atletico have had a fantastic season so far, sealing a place automatically in the last 16 after a fifth-placed finish. Julian Alvarez is enjoying a fantastic campaign, and will be vital in his side's chances if they want to gain some revenge.

Wednesday, March 5th

Bayern Munich vs Bayer Leverkusen - 21:00 CET

The two best teams in Germany face off in a mouthwatering clash on Wednesday, with almost a derby feel of its own.

Bayer Leverkusen and Xabi Alonso were able to take the Bundesliga title off Bayern Munich last season, and the Spaniard has a mighty record against the Bavarians, winning three and drawing three of their last six clashes. He certainly knows how to get the better of his opponents, which will stand him in good stead.

However, Bayern look on course to win the league again this year, despite looking far from convincing in the Champions League. Unlike Leverkusen, Vincent Kompany's men had to go through a playoff to get into the last 16, and were given a real scare by Celtic.

While on paper it looks like Leverkusen are potentially the favourites, Bayern's Champions League heritage and know-how in Europe could be a crucial factor, which makes this match so finely balanced.

PSG vs Liverpool - 21:00 CET

PSG and Liverpool are two of the most exciting and in-form teams in the whole of Europe, but only one can come out on top in this fantastic match-up.

This, then, is the blockbuster tie of this Champions League round. PSG have been crushing all-comers since the turn of the year. Brest found this out in the playoff round, losing an eye-watering 10-0 over the two legs as the Parisiens turned on the style.

Ousmane Dembele will be the player to fear for the Reds, having netted 18 goals in 2025. He will come up against his sternest test of that run, though - if he plays through the middle - as he comes up against Virgil van Dijk. The Dutch dynamo is arguably the in-form centre-back in Europe right now.

Liverpool have also had a weekend of rest, meaning they should be the fresher of the two sides going into the clash.

Goals are virtually guaranteed and the atmosphere in the Parc des Princes will match the excitement on the pitch. This is one is surely not one to miss.

Thursday, March 6th

Real Sociedad vs Manchester United - 18:45 CET

The pressure continues to mount on Manchester United and Ruben Amorim, and they now face the tricky task of visiting Real Sociedad in the Europa League.

After being knocked out of the FA Cup on penalties at home to Fulham, the Europa League is now the only way for the Red Devils to win silverware this season, and with staff cuts continuing, the route into the Champions League if they were to win it all feels more vital than ever.

Real Sociedad will be no pushovers though, and go into the first tie in the Basque Country as favourites according to the bookmakers.

Despite this, they have lost their last two games to Barcelona and Real Madrid without netting, and it is Manchester United who have the form in Europe, winning their last five games of the League Phase.

Expect a tight and tense affair that should be as interesting on the pitch as the permutations off it.

AS Roma vs Athletic Club - 21:00 CET

Since taking over on an interim basis, Claudio Ranieri has done a fine job steadying the Roma ship, guiding his team through the playoffs and into the Europa League last 16, while also being unbeaten in Serie A in 2025.

They come into this match with great momentum, but in Athletic Club, they face a side who have been superb this season.

Athletic finished second in the group phase, and have been exceptional in LaLiga too. Sitting comfortably in fourth place, they are on track to secure Champions League qualification next season.

It is sure to be a really competitive match with many top players on show, including the likes of Paulo Dybala and Nico Williams.
