Xavi has been a reported target of the Amsterdam giants since manager John Heitinga was fired in November. Rumours about the Spaniard joining Ajax gained traction after Jordi Cruyff, who brought Xavi to FC Barcelona in 2021 and is a good friend of the former star midfielder.
Xavi started his managerial career in 2019 at Qatari side Al-Sadd, where he won 7 trophies before joining FC Barcelona in 2021. In Catalonia, Xavi won the Supercopa de España and the Primera División in the 2022/23 season.
