Feyenoord snapped a four-game losing streak after beating Eredivisie minnows Telstar 2-1 on Sunday.

Robin van Persie's team had dropped games to Stuttgart, Go Ahead Eagles, NEC and Celtic ahead of Sunday's meeting with Telstar, who hadn't played Feyenoord since the 1970s.

A quiet opening phase saw Feyenoord lose control over the game after fifteen minutes, giving Telstar the chance to open the scoring. After Tyrone Owusu missed his chance, however, the Rotterdam outfit grabbed the lead after all when Eredivisie top scorer Ayase Ueda calmly finished his first chance of the afternoon.

Feyenoord held onto their lead into the second half, but were forced to deal with a well-playing Ronald Koeman Jr., who kept Telstar in the game for over an hour. The home team's hope of a result quickly ended when Algerian star Anis Hadj Moussa quickly doubled Feyenoord's lead with a smart finish in the 62nd minute.

After Hadj Moussa came very close to scoring his second, which was prevented by teammate Sem Steijn, Telstar's Kay Tejan got his side back in it with a late goal that would turn the closing stages much more exciting.

A clinical Feyenoord held on, however, as they snapped their worst losing streak under Robin van Persie with a 2-1 win away at Telstar.
