The kick-off of the UEFA Europa League game between FC Utrecht and Racing Genk was delayed after a large group of unticketed Genk fans breached the stadium's security and entered the away section.

The game between FC Utrecht and Belgian outfit Racing Genk was scheduled to kick off at 21.00 CET, but was soon delayed after unnamed security issues in the away section.

A mayoral spokesman confirmed that a large group of unticketed Genk fans broke through the stadium's security and entered the away side without being searched.

Mayor Sharon Dijksma was called in for a security meeting, and riot police have cleared out the away section. All 1,400 (ticketed) Racing Genk fans have reportedly been sent home.

The game will now likely be played without away fans in De Galgenwaard. Kick-off is now scheduled for 21.50 CET.
