Cameron Burgess - Swansea City (8.1*)
Burgess recorded his first Player of the Match rating since late September with an 8.1 out of 10 in Swansea's 1-0 win away to Championship leaders Coventry City.
It was an ideal way to exorcise the demons of an unfortunate own goal a week earlier - his third of the season already - and this time he was an impenetrable part of Swansea's back third with 82% passing accuracy and topping the game charts for clearances (15), interceptions (three), aerial duels won (six of ten) and tackle success (two of two).
Alex Robertson - Cardiff City (7.8)
A lot of hard work and patience was needed on the part of Alex Robertson to become a regular starter in Cardiff's likely return to the Championship, but now "everything is coming positive" in the words of the 22-year-old.
Robertson delivered the only goal of Cardiff's 1-0 win over Exeter on Boxing Day, giving them a three-point buffer at the top of the standings that they maintained with a 2-1 win over Stevenage earlier this week.
The two-cap Socceroo is now thriving under current manager Brian Barry-Murphy, who has had a relationship with Robertson for some time as a former coach of the Manchester City under-23s side.
He also recorded a game-best 24 accurate passes in the final third (from 27 attempts), contributing to the second-best rating of any Socceroo from the previous week.
Alessandro Circati - Parma (7.4)
Hailed by some as a "generational talent", 22-year-old Circati is already captain of his Serie A club and he made a successful return from an injury layoff of nearly two months with a 7.4 rating out of ten in Parma's 1-0 win at home to Fiorentina.
The fact he rated so highly even with a first-half booking, which is always detrimental to a player rating in our unique algorithm, speaks highly to ho well he played at the back to help his side keep a clean sheet - and more importantly, the relegation zone at bay for yet another week.
Circati's rating came courtesy of his five clearances and nine out of ten accurate 'long passes', a better accuracy (90%) than any other player on the pitch.
Cameron Devlin - Heart of Midlothian (7.1)
Devlin's first goal of the season - and another appearance without attracting the wrath of the referee - helped the consistent, no-nonsense 27-year-old to seven consecutive ratings between 7.1 and 7.3 out of ten since sitting on the bench during the Socceroos' November friendlies against Colombia and Venezuela in the USA.
He was busier than any other player on the pitch during Hearts' 3-2 win over Martin Boyle's Hibs, registering more accurate passes (54 out of 67), ball touches (94) and drawing more fouls (five) than anybody else.
As you'll see below from our partners at Opta, it's been his standard operating procedure throughout the Premiership.
Martin Boyle - Hibernian (7.0)
Boyle was on the losing side but not without effort, completing eight out of nine passes and making two shots off target in a pretty quiet 84-minute cameo.
He didn't do a great deal right nor wrong, which is why he ended up with a fairly neutral rating of 7.0, but it was the first of his last four starts in which he didn't score, so the medium-term form is heading in the right direction.
Special mention: Nestory Irankunda - Watford (6.7)
Our player rating algorithm gives any player with at least ten minutes of game time a default rating of 6.0/10, which is then influenced by how they perform on the pitch.
That's why, having played only 12 minutes on Tuesday morning, Nestory Irankunda walked off the pitch with a 6.7 despite setting up Watford's fortuitous match-winner at Norwich.
The goal came via a lucky deflection, but it nonetheless goes down as an assist for Irankunda, so we couldn't let it go without mention...
