Defender: Trent Alexander-Arnold vs Newcastle United (H) - 5.0 points

Liverpool are the leading defence in the Premier League this campaign and are now up to 11 clean sheets after beating Manchester City 2-0 at the weekend. Three of those clean sheets have come in 2025, where they’ve conceded just nine goals in nine games.

The visit of Newcastle United may seem difficult at first glance, but Liverpool are far superior in terms of their form. Right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has eight goal involvements for the campaign, including a goal against Aston Villa last midweek.

The reverse of this fixture resulted in a 3-3 draw, with Alexander-Arnold producing a brace of assists as a substitute in that game. He leads the way among defenders for his creativity, sitting top for both key passes (49) and big chances created (14).

Midfielder: Cole Palmer vs Southampton (H) - 8.8 points

It’s not often that we see Mohamed Salah ousted from the top of the overall AI rankings, but on this occasion it’s Chelsea’s Cole Palmer who is preferred by a margin of 0.9 predicted points ahead of a home game against bottom of the league Southampton. He’s the best captain pick for this week.

The big concern here is Chelsea’s form, with them winning just one of their last four games. They’ve scored just four goals in this time, with Palmer providing one assist. Chelsea were the 5-1 winners in the reverse of this fixture, with Palmer providing a goal on that occasion.

Palmer has had 13 shots on goal in the last four gameweeks, ranking him sixth among midfielders. Meanwhile, Southampton are without a clean sheet since mid-December, conceding 11 goals across their last four league games, making this a key game to target.

Forward: Matheus Cunha vs Fulham (H) – 5.7 points

With tough fixtures for the template forwards Alexander Isak and Chris Wood this midweek, there’s a new name ascending to the top of the forward rankings. Wolves have won two of their last three league games, with striker Matheus Cunha scoring in three consecutive games.

The Wolves forward is now up to 13 goals and four assists for this campaign, coming from 23 starts in this season. Over the last four gameweeks, Cunha sits top for shots on goal with 17, with eight of those hitting the target. It’s also thought that he’s first choice on penalties.

With a recent upturn in form, Wolves have a good chance of a result against Fulham at Molineux. Significantly, they were the 4-1 victors in the reverse fixture, with Cunha providing his biggest fantasy return of the season with three goal involvements and 16 points.

Hidden Gem: Heung-min Son vs Manchester City (H) - 6.1 points

Spurs have rejuvenated their season with three consecutive wins in the league, climbing the Premier League table. Their captain Heung-min Son has been central to this improvement in their form, contributing four assists in the last three gameweeks.

Son has multiple routes to points from the wing, with six goals and ten assists this season, plus he is on penalties. Would-be owners should not be put off by the fixture, with Spurs already beating Manchester City 4-0 at the Etihad earlier this season, with an assist for Son on that day.

Manchester City have suffered some big losses in recent games, including a 5-1 defeat to Arsenal in Gameweek 24 and 2-0 to Liverpool last weekend. Anything can happen under the lights in a midweek gameweek.
