Jarrod Bowen is taking his time over a decision on his future amid interest from Aston Villa, with West Ham United hopeful the forward's loyalty to the club will convince him to stay.

Bowen was West Ham's standout player last season and is attracting attention from Villa as they seek to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the new season.

Tottenham Hotspur are also understood to be monitoring the situation, while Chelsea and Everton have been linked recently.

West Ham's position is that Bowen is not for sale and there is a strong desire to retain the England international as they target an immediate return to the Premier League.

Club officials are aware of the affection Bowen has for West Ham and remain optimistic that he could commit to one season in the Championship to help lead their promotion challenge.

While there is an acceptance that interest from one of the country's elite clubs could yet influence the player's thinking, there has so far been no indication from Bowen that he is pushing for a move away from the London Stadium.

Following relegation, West Ham players are expected to take a 50 per cent wage reduction as part of contractual clauses. However, the club are prepared to explore the possibility of keeping Bowen on his Premier League salary if it helps secure his future for another season.

Unless Bowen actively seeks a transfer, West Ham's intention remains to keep hold of their captain and build their promotion bid around him.

Bowen is not the only player whose future is under consideration this summer. West Ham are also facing significant decisions regarding Crysencio Summerville, who arrived with high expectations but remains an attractive option for clubs seeking attacking reinforcements.

The £50 million-rated Dutch winger is viewed as one of the squad's most valuable assets and could generate substantial interest should West Ham decide they need to raise funds. However, losing both Summerville and Bowen in the same window would represent a blow to the club's hopes of securing an immediate return to the Premier League.

As a result, West Ham's preference is to keep some of their attacking unit intact.
