Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has spoken to the media ahead of this week's clash with Fulham.

The two sides clash for the first time since the chaotic 5-4 win for City just months ago at Craven Cottage.

This time the two teams meet at the Etihad Stadium, where City have won 44 points from a possible 51 available across their last 17 Premier League home games.

Catching Arsenal

Guardiola’s side head into the game on the back of a rare win over Liverpool at Anfield, a stadium where they had previously won just once in 10 games under the Spanish head coach.

"Still, the distance is not huge, but how Arsenal are doing, six points is a lot.

"Every time in the last month or weeks, before the game in the flash interview, if you lose, you are losing everything and will disappear from planet Earth."

On the reaction to the win: "Yesterday I didn't see the players, and today I haven't yet seen the players, we will see.

"Still, the distance is not huge, but considering how Arsenal is doing, six points is a lot. Next game against a team (Fulham), who every year is getting better and better, so we will see."

Khusanov is only getting better

Guardiola was then asked about Abdukodir Khusanov and his progression both on and off the pitch as he adapts to life in England. The defender picked up an injury against Liverpool and is unlikely to face Fulham this week as he recovers.

"He doesn't speak like William Shakespeare, but he's getting better and better! He understands what we want, and every time he is better.

"He is so intelligent. Normally, I have the opinion that he is so physical and strong and so fast that he's not able to think, but it's completely the opposite - he's always making good decisions.

"He is so fast. His recoveries are one of the attributes, but he's so intelligent. Normally, a player with his physicality means he doesn't have to use what is going on, and he has both. That's why he's getting better.

"I think he can improve, he is always open-minded. Man City have a player and a central defender for many years."

How can City stop Fulham?

Lastly, as City's defensive issues grow worse, Guardiola was questioned on how his side can stop Fulham's ruthless attack, who have scored 35 goals in 25 games this season.

"Every season is better. The movements they do... they are really good. The patterns and the quality they have, the composure of the play, and the speed they have. Marco (Silva) is one of the top, top, top managers I face.

"Destined to be one of the top in a few years for sure."
