These are just some of the moments that caught the eye in football over the weekend, which we've included in our weekly 'Winners and Losers' feature.

Winners - Senegal

This year's Africa Cup of Nations final will surely be remembered for a long time by the fans of both teams who battled for the trophy: Morocco and Senegal.

The closing minutes of normal time were heart-stopping. In the 92nd minute, Senegal scored, only for the goal to be disallowed for a foul. In the 97th minute, Morocco were awarded a penalty after a VAR review. Five minutes later, the Senegalese players stormed off the pitch, furious at the referee's decision.

They returned after nine minutes, and in the 114th minute, Brahim Diaz stepped up to take the penalty that could have given Morocco their first title in 50 years. His Panenka attempt failed miserably.

Extra time followed, and it was Pape Gueye's goal that proved decisive, as Senegal secured their second title in the last three editions of the Africa Cup of Nations.

Losers - Real Madrid

It's not often that a winning team finds itself among the losers, but in this case, the choice is less about the result on the pitch and more about the atmosphere surrounding the club.

For 90 minutes, the fans at Santiago Bernabeu booed their own players, even when the scoreboard showed 2-0 to Real in the match against Levante. It seems it wasn't so much the 3-2 defeat to Barcelona in the Super Cup, nor the Copa del Rey exit (2-3 against Albacete) that pushed the Los Blancos fans over the edge, but rather the way the club chose to part ways with coach Xabi Alonso.

President Florentino Perez reportedly sided with the players rather than the coach, a move that angered fans, who called for the resignation of the man who has led the club for more than 25 years.

Among the players targeted by the crowd's boos were Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr, the latter hinting that he may not want to continue at Bernabeu after the summer.

On a slightly brighter note for Real, Kylian Mbappe scored his 50th La Liga goal, a feat achieved in just 53 matches, making him the second fastest player to reach this milestone after Cristiano Ronaldo in 2011 (51 matches).

Losers - Liverpool

Anfield is another ground where fans have reached the end of their patience. After a summer in which the club made the two most expensive signings in Premier League history, supporters expected nothing less than a defence of last season's title.

However, the "Reds" now find themselves 14 points behind leaders Arsenal, haven't won in their last four league games (four draws, the latest against Burnley, 1-1), and have set an unwanted record: they are the first reigning Premier League champions to fail to win a home match against any of the three newly promoted sides.

Winners - Manchester United

Manchester United have been regulars in the losers' section lately, but this time they fully deserve their place among the winners.

With Michael Carrick in charge, the Red Devils dominated their City rivals far more than the 2-0 scoreline suggests.

The stats show United had six big chances to City's none, and the shots on target tally was similarly one-sided: 7-1. Carrick adds another major scalp to his managerial record.

Losers - Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham's complicated situation means we linger a little longer in the Premier League. The stats are damning: Thomas Frank is the club's worst manager in recent history, averaging just 1.32 points per game in all competitions, and at home, he has the lowest win percentage of any Spurs manager since 1992. Frank has just two wins from 11 matches, a success rate of only 18%.

The weekend defeat to West Ham has left him on the brink, and ironically, the coach who beat him, Nuno Espirito Santo, has had as many league wins at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium since April (two) as Frank himself.

There's intense speculation about his possible sacking, and a poor result against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League could be the final straw.

Winner - Michael Olise

Two seasons ago, he was impressing in a Crystal Palace shirt. Now, at Bayern Munich, he's one of the best wingers in the world.

Even with limited minutes, Michael Olise makes a big impact on his team's performance. When he came on in the 57th minute of the away clash with RB Leipzig, the score was 1-1. He then produced a hat-trick of assists and scored a goal himself, as Bayern cruised to a 5-1 win.

The Frenchman received a perfect 10 rating from Flashscore for the second time in the last three rounds!

Bonus

To finish, here are a few special goals from the weekend just gone.

The first comes from a Scottish Cup tie: Rangers v Annan (5-0), with the scoring rounded off by a superb free-kick from Thelo Aasgaard.

Shaqueel van Persie, son of Robin van Persie, made a spectacular mark on the professional scoresheet, netting a brilliant brace against Sparta Rotterdam, even though his team, Feyenoord, eventually lost 4-3. Here he is scoring with a bicycle kick:

The final stop is at Stockport in League One, where Rotherham equalised in the first half thanks to a comical own goal. Keeper Hinchliffe cleared the ball straight into a teammate, and it ended up in their own net. It's worth noting that the match finished 3-2 to Stockport, who themselves benefited from two own goals by the opposition.
