After the disappointing results against Brondby and Silkeborg, FC Copenhagen got back to winning ways when they recorded a 2-0 win in Haderslev against Sonderjyske to restore morale at a crucial time before their trip to Aserbajdsjan where they wil face Qarabag on Wednesday in the Champions League.

Thanks to the win, FC Copenhagen is back in first place with 20 points after ten matches.  AGF, who also have 20 points, have a game in hand and can reclaim the top spot in Sunday's match against FC Nordsjaelland.

Brazilian winger Robert Silva was the big hero of the day for FC Copenhagen as he scored twice for the reigning champions.  Before that, captain Viktor Claesson missed two great chances.

After 23 minutes, Claesson hit the post after a superbly orchestrated attack, but the home side escaped with an early scare. However, five minutes later, Robert broke the deadlock for the Copenhagen favorites when he found the net with a clinical finish after being put clean through by Mohamed Elyounoussi

Sonderjyske generally struggled in the first half and had to make an early substitution when Runar Sigurgeirsson went off with an injury and was replaced by Gideon Duru.

The visitors continued to dominate after the break, and ten minutes into the second half, Robert doubled the lead when he brilliantly half-volleyed the ball into the right top-hand corner after the ball fell kindly at his feet inside the box.

Later, Robert came close to making a hat-trick with a long-range drive, but Sonderjyske keeper Marcus Bundgaard parried the effort. The home side secured a lifeline towards the end of the match when Magnus Jensen converted a penalty after Thomas Delaney blocked a shot on goal inside the box with his arm.

However, the visitors hung on to claim a crucial win despite the disappointments of the past weeks.
