Sonderjyske - AGF
When the news filtered in that FC Midtjylland had lost at home, it created huge celebrations amongst the AGF supporters who had travelled all the way to Haderslev.
AGF almost gave their spectators more to celebrate in the opening phase of the match as Norwegian playmaker Kristian Arnstad came close to opening the score with a great action in the first half, where both sides otherwise struggled to create clear-cut scoring opportunities despite promising build-up play.
In the second half, AGF showed why they are current league leaders, with plenty of creativity and players constantly sacrificing themselves to go the extra yard to help the team. That was rewarded after 68 minutes when Tobias Bech flicked the ball cleverly on for Janni Serra.
Serra was tackled at the last minute by Pachanga Kristensen, but the ball was diverted back for Tobias Bech, who hammered the ball home from close range to give the visitors a very deserved lead.
Ten minutes before the end, AGF came close to doubling the lead when a superb header from Frederik Tingager was denied by the woodwork, and the visitors suffered a cruel fate in the dying seconds as Magnus Jensen in the 93rd minute restored parity for the hosts with a close-range header after Maxime Soulas's header had bounced off the crossbar.
Brondby - Viborg
Brondby suffered another disappointment when they lost 1-0 at home against Viborg and consequently lost another step in their quest to catch up to the top teams in the league.
It was end-to-end action at the beginning of the match, where Brondbys Jacob Ambaek and Viborgs Sami Jalal squandered huge chances to open the score. Gradually, the visitors seized the initiative and deservedly won a penalty shortly before the end of the first half when Nicolai Vallys touched the ball with his hand inside the box.
However, Brondby were fortunate to see Thomas Jorgensen's effort hit the crossbar. After 75 minutes, Viborg were then awarded another penalty, and this time, Daniel Anyembe stepped up to convert and give the visitors a deserved lead.
Brondby generally struggled to create chances in the second half, which has been the problem throughout the spring season until now, and they have yet to score in 2026.
