AGF had already sealed the trophy a week ago through a 2-0 win at Brondby, but wanted to give their fans something extra to cheer about in the comfort of their own home as they celebrated their first championship title triumph in forty years.
One of AGF's homegrown talents who has underlined his potential throughout the season, winger Frederik Emmery scored already in the first minutes to shatter Viborg's hope of an unlikely upset. The home side played with all the technical finesse and willpower that has carried them far throughout the season, and at half-time, AGF led 3-1.
After the break, Icelandic youngster Tomas Kristjanson shone brightly with two goals to underline that they have talent in depth ready to defend the title next season as they thrashed Viborg through a 6-2 scoreline.
FC Midtjylland 2-3 Brondby
FC Midtjylland went into the clash against Brondby having restored morale by claiming the Danish Cup Final trophy on Thursday through a 1-0 win against FC Copenhagen.
Mike Tullberg's side also got off to a good start as they went into the interval with a comfortable 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Valdemar Byskov and Mikel Gogorza.
Brondby desperately needed a win to keep alive their dreams of a ticket for a playoff clash against FC Copenhagen for the Conference League, and they were handed a lifeline after 56 minutes when Mayckel Lahdo cut the deficit. Two late goals from Sho Fukuda and Luis Binks completed their sensational performance for a very unlikely win in Herning.
