The match is scheduled for Tuesday, June 2, 2026, and will be played at the Cardiff City Stadium in Cardiff.
It will mark the first-ever senior men’s international meeting between Wales and Ghana, giving both sides a valuable opportunity to fine-tune their squads ahead of the global tournament in North America.
For Wales, the fixture will be historic as it will also be the first time an African nation has played them in a senior men’s international match.
The Welsh side, led by head coach Craig Bellamy, will host a Ghana team expected to feature several top players including Jordan Ayew, Antoine Semenyo, Iñaki Williams and Mohammed Kudus.
The friendly forms part of an intensive preparation schedule for Ghana head coach Otto Addo as the Black Stars gear up for the World Cup.
Ghana have already lined up several warm-up matches, including friendlies against Austria, Germany and Mexico in the months leading up to the tournament.
The game could also serve as an emotional send-off for Wales if they successfully navigate their World Cup play-off pathway, which will determine whether Bellamy’s side qualifies for the tournament in North America.
Ghana will head into the World Cup drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia and Panama, with matches scheduled between June 17 and June 27, 2026.
