22:58 CET - Jannik Sinner is through to the next round. The world number didn't have things all his own way, going 4-0 down in the third set, but ultimately upped his game to secure a 6-4, 6-3, 7-5 win over Arthur Rinderknech.

22:25 CET - Clara Tauson was the last women's seed of the day on court and the world number 22 beat Magda Linette 6-4, 4-6, 6-1 in a tight two-hour battle.
In the penultimate men's match of the day, Dutch number one Tallon Griekspoor fought his way to a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-5 win over Marcos Giron.
20:43 CET - French number one Arthur Fils has moved into the second round with a 3-6, 6-4, 7-6, 6-3 win over Nicolas Jarry, and women's number seven Madison Keys is also through thanks to a 6-2, 6-1 win over Daria Saville.
19:57 CET - Ugo Humbert made the French crowd sweat at times, but in the end, the 26-year-old home favourite was just too strong for Christopher O'Connell, winning 7-5, 6-3, 7-6(3).
19:51 CET - Former French Open champions Jelena Ostapenko and Barbora Krejcikova both claimed wins on the Parisian dirt, sealing their spots in the second round.
19:09 CET - Richard Gasquet's tennis career isn't over just yet! The 38-year-old overcame fellow Frenchman Terence Atmane, 6-2, 2-6, 6-3, 6-0, to delight the home fans and set up a potential second-round meeting with world No. 1 Jannik Sinner.
Great Britain's Katie Boulter also progressed after battling back to claim a 6-7(4), 6-1, 6-1 win over Carole Monnet.
18:49 CET - There have been a few more winners at Roland Garros, with Daria Kasatkina, Sebastian Ofner and Denis Shapovalov all moving into the second round.
17:43 CET - Holger Rune was given a stern test by the experienced Roberto Bautista Agut, but the Dane dug deep to claim a 6-7(4), 6-4, 6-3, 6-2 victory in over three hours.
17:38 CET - There has been a big upset in Paris, with clay court expert and 18th seed Francisco Cerundolo being comprehensively beaten, 7-5, 6-3, 6-4, by Canadian Gabriel Diallo. That will be a relief to several players in his section - especially Alexander Zverev, who has lost all three meetings with the Argentine.
No such issue for Karen Khachanov, however, with the Russian easing past Aleksandar Vukic, 6-2, 6-4, 6-4.
17:13 CET - Former champion Stanislas Wawrinka was dumped out of the French Open after the 40-year-old was comfortably beaten 7-6(6), 6-2, 6-2 by Brit Jacob Fearnley.
Meanwhile, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, Ajla Tomljanovic and Jiri Lehecka all progressed with victories.
17:05 CET - Emotional scenes on Philippe Chatrier as Frenchwoman Caroline Garcia played her last ever match at Roland Garros, as she was defeated 6-4, 6-4 by Bernarda Pera. The two-time doubles champion here at this tournament is set to retire from the sport this year.
16:22 CET - It's a happy day for the happy couple with Paula Badosa coming from behind to win a heavyweight clash with Naomi Osaka 6-7, 6-1, 6-4 and boyfriend Stefanos Tsitsipas beating Tomas Martin Etcheverry 7-5, 6-3, 6-4.
In some mixed news for the US, Danielle Collins has made it through in straight sets but men's fourth seed Taylor Fritz has lost 7-5, 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 to Daniel Altmaier. It's turning into a real disaster of a year for him.
15:14 CET - 18th seed Liudmila Samsonova has moved into the next round with a 7-6, 6-2 win over Mayar Sherif.
14:32 CET - Four-time Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz has got his French Open title defence underway with a solid performance against lucky loser Giulio Zeppieri, defeating the Italian 6-3, 6-4, 6-2 to briskly move into the second round.
Hugo Gaston and Robin Montgomery also triumphed in the first round in the French capital.
14:00 CET - Emma Raducanu has come through a real slugfest with Xinyu Wang, getting the better of her Chinese opponent, 7-5, 4-6, 6-3 in two hours and 43 minutes. Up next for her is the tough test of Iga Swiatek.
13:38 CET - Four-time French Open champion Iga Swiatek has begun her quest for a fourth-straight title in Paris with a really impressive win over Rebecca Sramkova, defeating the Slovakian 6-3, 6-3. The Pole hasn't won a title this year, but can she find some form at her favourite tournament?
13:28 CET - Two-time finalist Casper Ruud has got his French Open campaign off to a convincing start, downing Albert Ramos-Vinolas in just over two hours, 6-3, 6-4, 6-2.
Alexei Popyrin, Sebastin Korda and Yuliia Starodubtseva all also clinched first-round wins.
12:56 CET - Elena Rybakina has survived a scare in Roland Garros, fending off world No. 202 Julia Riera to eventually seal a 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 victory.
Veronika Kudermetova also moved into the second round after she defeated Viktoria Tomova, 7-5, 6-1.
12:08 CET - The first result of the day is in, and there has been a massive upset in the French capital! No. 9 seed Emma Navarro has been utterly demolished in round one, falling at the hands of Jessica Bouzas Maneiro, 6-0, 6-1 in just under an hour.
It is the Spaniard's first-ever win at the French Open, and a stunning way to start the day!
