The men's and women's action continues today in Brisbane as the 2025 tennis season gets started Down Under with the United Cup ongoing as well. We will have all the major news and results from Australia and elsewhere for you here.

22:08 CET - The tennis begins again in a few hours and will go on throughout the night, with young talents Jakub Mensik (19) and Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard (21) in action in Brisbane, before Novak Djokovic (37) faces Gael Monfils (37) in the morning.

Daria Kasatkina (27), Mirra Andreeva (17) and Ons Jabeur (30) will also take to the court, while Andrey Rublev (27) begins his Hong Kong campaign.

At the United Cup, Poland take on Great Britain in the quarter-finals, which includes a meeting between Katie Boulter (28) and Iga Swiatek (23).

15:08 CET - And in the final singles contest of the day, veteran Kei Nishikori (35) has secured one of his biggest wins in a while, defeating Karen Khachanov (28) in Hong Kong 4-6, 6-3, 7-5. He has moved into the quarter-finals.

14:20 CET - In the last men's match of the day in Brisbane, Aussie Jordan Thompson (30) has beaten Alex Michelsen (20) of the USA 7-5, 6-3 to book a quarter-final with Grigor Dimitrov (33).

14:00 CET - The USA have moved into the final four of the United Cup after taking an unassailable 2-0 lead over China in their quarter-final clash.

Taylor Fritz (27) and Coco Gauff (20) did the damage for the USA, both winning their singles rubbers in straight sets.

13:05 CET - Hosts Australia have beaten Great Britain in the teams' United Cup clash with the tie being decided by the mixed doubles rubber.

Alex De Minaur (25) was the star for the Aussies winning his singles match before backing up to win the doubles as well.

Despite the win, the hosts will not advance with GB progressing to the quarter-finals.

12:50 CET - In a remarkable story, Canada's Gabriela Dabrowski (32) revealed yesterday that her run to an Olympic tennis bronze in Paris last year came as she was receiving treatment for breast cancer.

12:20 CET - In the final women's match of the day in Brisbane, 10th seed Victoria Azarenka (35) has defeated Aussie teen Maya Joint (18) 6-7, 6-2, 6-4 to seal the last third-round berth in the tournament.

11:20 CET - Moving over to Hong Kong, Miormir Kecmanovic (25) has beaten Alexandre Muller (27) 7-5, 6-7, 7-6 in an epic that lasted almost three and a half hours to move into the final eight. 

Earlier, Cameron Norrie (29) sealed his spot in the quarter-finals with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 win over Lorenzo Sonego (29).

In Brisbane, third women's seed Daria Kasatkina (27) is into the third round after downing Peyton Stearns (23) 7-6, 4-6, 7-5.

09:30 CET - In the last result of the day in Auckland, Katie Volynets (23) has beaten fellow American Ann Li (24) 6-4, 6-3 to advance to the quarter-finals.

08:00 CET - Kazakhstan have ended Germany's title defence at the United Cup after winning both the men's and women's singles rubbers to book a spot in the semi-finals.

Elena Rybakina (25) put Kazakhstan ahead with a comprehensive 6-3, 6-1 victory over Laura Siegemund (36) in the first match of the tournament's knockout stages before Alexander Shevchenko (24) beat Daniel Masur (30) 6-7, 6-2, 6-2 to give Kazakhstan an unassailable 2-0 lead in the tie.

07:30 CET - In the men's doubles in Brisbane, fan favourites Novak Djokovic (37) and Nick Kyrgios (29) have lost 6-2, 3-6, 10-8 to top seeds Nikola Mektic (36) and Michael Venus (37), who progress to the final eight with the win.

07:20 CET - Let's catch up on some of the overnight matches. Over in Brisbane, Grigor Dimitrov (33), Nicolas Jarry (29) and Jiri Lehecka (23) all progressed through to the men's quarter-finals with wins - catch up on those results here.

On the women's side, Anastasia Potapova (23), Polina Kudermetova (21) and Kimberly Birrel (26) all won their second-round matches - catch on those here.

In Auckland, Naomi Osaka (27) cruised into the final eight with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Julia Grabher (28).

In the United Cup, Poland downed the Czech Republic to book a quarter-final berth.
