The clay court season is well underway with the Monte Carlo Masters entering its third day, and we'll bring you all of today's action in our Tennis Tracker, from results to video highlights to on-court interviews.

19:26 CET - Matteo Berrettini defeated Francisco Cerundolo after an almost three-hour-long clash, winning by 7-5, 6-7, 4-6.

18:45 CET - On a brighter note for Thiem, he's been given the ATP Flash Moment of the Day for this sumptuous drop shot he played when match point down to win a gruelling rally.

18:35 CET - Not so long ago, Dominic Thiem (29) was widely considered the second-best clay court player in the world after a certain Spaniard, but injuries have taken their toll since then, as was evident today.

The Austrian lost 6-2, 6-4 to sixth seed Holger Rune (19), but he can at least take some comfort from the fact that he pushed his opponent close in the second set.

17:10 CET - In one of the most intriguing match-ups of the day, world number 10 Taylor Fritz (25) has beaten former Monte Carlo champion Stan Wawrinka (38) 7-6, 6-2. The veteran so nearly won the first set, having two set points, but failed to trouble the American in the second.

Next up for Fritz is Lehecka.

16:40 CET - Daniil Medvedev (27) is the first to admit that clay isn't exactly a surface that he thrives on, but the Russian is showing signs of progress, picking up his second straight-sets win in a row by beating Lorenzo Sonego (27) 6-3, 6-2.

He'll have to up his game again if he wants to reach the quarter-finals in Monaco though, with Zverev up next for the third seed.

15:47 CET - Ranked 12 in the world, Karen Khachanov (26) has duly lived up to his ranking, beating Ilya Ivashka (29) 7-6, 6-2, and advancing into the third round.

15:13 CET - Grigor Dimitrov (25) has reached the semi-finals in Monte Carlo twice in the past, but won't be doing so for a third time this year. The Bulgarian has lost 7-6, 6-4 to Jiri Lehecka (21) of the Czech Republic.

14:35 CET - Unfortunately for Diego Schwartzman (30), he had to retire prematurely from his second-round match against Jannik Sinner (21) due to injury. However, the result was already going the Italian's way with Sinner winning the first set 6-0 and 3-1 up in the second before the Argentine pulled the plug.

14:00 CET - It did not take long for Lorenzo Musetti (21) to see off Italian compatriot Luca Nardi (19) with the match lasting just 52 minutes as Musetti won both sets to love in a commanding performance.

13:48 CET - Another result from Monte Carlo as Nicolas Jarry (27) has seen off Australian Alexei Popyrin (23) despite losing the first set. Popyrin won that 6-3, but the Chilean fought back, battling to win the next two sets 7-5, 6-4.

13:30 CET - It wasn't as easy as he would have liked, but Casper Ruud (24) - one of the favourites for the Monte Carlo title - is through to the next round.

He was taken to a second-set tiebreak by Botic Van De Zandschulp (27) but held his nerve to beat the Dutchman 7-5, 7-6.

13:05 CET - Some of Alexander Zverev's (25) best tennis last year came on clay, and early signs suggest that could be the case again.

The German has beaten former top-10 player Roberto Bautista Agut (34) without too much trouble, winning 6-4, 6-4 in under two hours.

12:20 CET - The first match of the day to finish has produced something of a shock, with qualifier Jan-Lennard Struff (32) beating 14th seed Alex de Minaur (24) in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2.

07:55 CET - Novak Djokovic (35) remains the favourite to claim the Monte Carlo this week after beating Ivan Gakhov (26), but the world number one wasn't overly happy with how he performed.

"(It was) not easy to find the rhythm, to have the ball right, the ball toss and playing a lefty, playing someone that has not much to lose," he said.

"All these things play a factor in the way you feel on the court. I'm really glad I overcome the first step, because I hope things will be better and easier from this point."

06:25 CET - Plenty of big names can secure their place in the next round of the Monte Carlo Masters today but may well not have an easy time doing so.

Daniil Medvedev (27) is facing Lorenzo Sonego (27), Casper Ruud (24) will have to get past Botic van de Zandschulp (27), Holger Rune (19) will go up against Dominic Thiem (29) and former champion Stan Wawrinka (38) stands in Taylor Fritz's (25) way.
