Hunter, 31, earned Second-Team All-Pro honors for the second time in his career after putting up a stellar 15 sacks along with 54 tackles, 22 quarterback hits, 15 tackles for a loss, two forced fumbles, and two pass deflections.
One of the NFL's premier pass rushers will now be under contract with the Texans through the 2027 season.
Hunter has established himself as one of the league's most dangerous pass rushers since the Minnesota Vikings selected him in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft. Throughout his 10-year career, Hunter has recorded at least 10 sacks in seven of those seasons and at least 12 in six.
He spent eight years with the Vikings, missing the 2020 season with a herniated disc, before he joined the Texans. This past season, Hunter was a big piece of a defensive unit that was considered the best of the decade.
Since joining the Texans in 2024, he hasn't missed a single game - playing in all 34 regular season games and the team's four playoff games. He's racked up a total of 562 tackles, 114.5 sacks, 179 QB hits, 140 tackles for a loss, 15 forced fumbles, 14 pass deflections, and two touchdowns throughout 153 games over the course of his career.
Houston's 2025 season came to an end after the team got bounced in the AFC Divisional Round by the New England Patriots.
