Where will the 2028 Olympic Games be held?

For the next epic chapter, the Olympics will return to Los Angeles, California, in the United States in the summer of 2028.

The city on the American West Coast will host the Olympic Games for the third time in its history after 1932 and 1984, joining London (1908, 1948, 2012) and Paris (1900, 1924, 2024) as the only three-time hosts in the competition’s rich history.

Los Angeles will be the stage for both the opening and closing ceremonies, which will be held in SoFi Stadium and the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The opening ceremony, which will be held on July 14, 2028, will be simultaneously held across both venues, while the closing ceremony will solely take place at The Coliseum, where the previous games in 1932 and 1984 were held.

Other venues in Los Angeles include the Los Angeles Lakers’ Crypto.com Arena (gymnastics), the Los Angeles Clippers’ Intuit Dome (basketball), the Rose Bowl (football), Santa Anita Park (equestrian), and Riviera Country Club (golf), while the newly added flag football and lacrosse will be played at BMO Stadium, home of Los Angeles FC in the Major League Soccer.

In addition to Los Angeles, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, will host two sports: softball and canoe slalom.

The 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, nicknamed LA 28, will be held from July 12-30, 2028.

The French Alps will be the first region to have hosted the Winter Games four times.

The venue of the opening ceremony, which will be held on July 1st, 2030, is yet to be announced. The closing ceremony will be held on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice on February 17th, 2030.

Oval Lingotto in Turin, Italy, and Thialf in Heerenveen, Netherlands, are mentioned as possible venues.

The 2030 Olympics in the French Alps will be held between February 1 and 17, 2030.
