Fleury was still able to move his extremities as the medical team helped him off the ice, where all of his teammates came off the bench to make sure he was okay.
The 29-year-old has been put through the hockey ringer in recent years. Just earlier this season, in November, Fleury missed 17 games after dealing with a concussion. A month before that, he was day-to-day with a knee injury.
Towards the end of the 2024-2025 season, Fleury missed 12 games with a lower-body injury and another 12 games on top of that with a hand and upper-body injury.
He has no points in 16 games this season for the Jets and is currently in the first of a two-year, $1.9 million contract extension he signed with the Jets before the season.
Fleury spent the first four years of his career as a member of the Carolina Hurricanes (2017-2020) before going to the Anaheim Ducks for a year (2021), then the same with the Seattle Kraken (2022), playing 48 games combined for both teams.
He would find his way to the Tampa Bay Lightning for the next two seasons (2023-2024), playing in less than 30 games in each season before joining Winnipeg in 2025.
The veteran has just one goal and 12 assists in the past four seasons (108 games).
