Based on our in-house player ratings, Flashscore has put together our top XI for the round, with special mentions going out to the Brazilian strike duo of Vinicius Junior and Gabriel Jesus, as well as Olympiacos' rock-solid defence.
Check out our latest Champions League Team of the Round below:

Goalkeeper
Konstantinos Tzolakis (Olympiacos) 7.9
It’s no coincidence that three Olympiacos players, all with defensive duties, feature in the team of the week for Matchday 7.
Goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis was crucial in the Greek side’s 2-0 win over Bayer Leverkusen, keeping a clean sheet despite the German team notching 2.32 xG. His six saves proved decisive in the result.
Defence
Costinha (Olympiacos) 8.2
We stay in Greece, and with the Olympiacos defence, this time to highlight a player who made his mark going forward.
Portuguese right-back Costinha started on the right flank and took advantage of Rodinei’s early assist to open the scoring just two minutes in, netting his first Champions League goal. The former Rio Ave player also stood out with 11 clearances throughout the match.

Cristian Romero (Tottenham) 8.3
In a week where defenders were among the goals, Cristian Romero played a key role in Spurs’ 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund, a result that helped Thomas Frank keep his job, at least for now.
The Argentine international had three attempts on the German goal, scored once, and also delivered his usual solid defensive display, leading the match with seven clearances.
Panagiotis Retsos (Olympiacos) 8.2
Panagiotis Retsos, another Olympiacos player, didn’t need a goal to be a standout player in what was surely a special match for him.
Facing his former club, the Greek international was outstanding at the back, making 10 clearances, one interception, two tackles, and winning six duels. The 'ex-player effect' was there, just without the goal.
Midfield
Wilson Odobert (Tottenham) 8.6
21-year-old winger Wilson Odobert has rarely made a real impact since joining Tottenham, but the game against Dortmund could be a turning point for the PSG academy product.
After registering his first assist of the season in the Premier League loss to Aston Villa, he followed up with two assists for Spurs on Tuesday, also impressing with four successful dribbles and seven duels won. A truly complete performance.
Hans Vanaken (Club Brugge) 8.9
A Club Brugge legend, Hans Vanaken, continues to deliver in midfield for the Belgian side and was the man of the match in their 4-1 win over Kairat in Kazakhstan.
The 33-year-old Belgian international scored once and provided an assist, keeping Club Brugge’s playoff hopes alive, and boasted a 91% pass completion rate.

Moises Caicedo (Chelsea) 8.5
Liam Rosenior’s side didn’t have their best game against Pafos. It took until the final 15 minutes to finally score the goal that decided the match against the modest Cypriot team.
Moises Caicedo has been one of the Blues’ top performers this season and was in the right place to score the winner from a corner, moving Chelsea up to eighth place - the last direct qualifying spot for the round of 16.
Jens Petter Hauge (Bodo/Glimt) 8.4
The most surprising result of the round came in Norway, where Bodo/Glimt stunned Manchester City 3-1 - a scoreline that could have been even bigger given the hosts' chances.
Despite Kasper Hogh’s brilliant brace, Jens Petter Hauge, who had less successful spells at AC Milan and Eintracht Frankfurt, once again showed his talent on the big stage, capping a brilliant individual display with a stunning goal that left Gianluigi Donnarumma rooted to the spot.
Forwards
Robert Navarro (Athletic Club) 8.7
Athletic Club fought hard on their trip to Bergamo and came away with a chance to qualify for the playoffs after a 3-2 win over Atalanta.
Robert Navarro was the star of the Basque side’s show in Italy, delivering a spectacular assist for Nico Serrano’s goal and then scoring himself just four minutes later, showing great composure to beat Marco Carnesecchi.
Gabriel Jesus (Arsenal) 8.7
Mikel Arteta has been cautious with Gabriel Jesus’ return from injury, but the Brazilian international has already shown he deserves more regular starts, even though Viktor Gyokeres also scored in the Gunners' 3-1 win over Inter in Milan.

In a World Cup year, the 28-year-old striker made his mark on the biggest stage with a brace, surely catching the eye of Brazil coach Ancelotti.
Vinicius Junior (Real Madrid) 9.0
2025 was a tough year for Vinicius Junior, and the start of 2026 seemed to be heading the same way, but recent days have finally brought reasons to smile for the Brazilian international.
After seeing Xabi Alonso lose the battle at the Bernabeu and enduring a tough match against Levante, where he was one of the main targets of the Merengues’ fans’ whistles, he proved he still has plenty to offer in a Real Madrid shirt.
Vini was Flashscore’s player of the week for Matchday 7, scoring and providing two assists in the 6-1 thrashing of Monaco. A turning point in a World Cup year? Just maybe!
