GK: Joel Drommel (Sparta) - 8.2

Joel Drommel used to be somewhat of a laughing stock among Eredivisie fans. However, the former FC Twente and PSV goalkeeper has completely transformed his public image after a string of extremely impressive performances, with the last one coming in Sparta's historic win over Feyenoord.

In Sparta's first win at De Kuip since 2000, Drommel recorded nine total saves as the team from Spangen won 4-3. Two of those saves even impressed Drommel himself, with the Dutchman's denial of Anis Hadj Moussa the best of the bunch. His performance even impressed Drommel himself: "Amazing. What an achievement, truly unbelievable," he told ESPN.

DEF: Kiliann Sildillia (PSV) - 8.1

The young Sildillia has struggled with his fitness since joining PSV from FSV Mainz over the summer, and with Sergino Dest in front of him, minutes have been scarce.

The American full-back was injured for PSV's visit to Fortuna Sittard, however, and Sildillia made the most of it with three won tackles, six won duels, and two created chances, one of which got him an assist when Paul Wanner scored the opener.

DEF: Anselmo Garcia MacNulty (PEC Zwolle) - 8.2

The first of three - yes, three - PEC Zwolle representatives in our Eredivisie Team of the Week is the Spanish-Irish ace Anselmo Garcia MacNulty, who also has one of my favourite names in the entire league.

Garcia MacNulty has been a steady factor for an otherwise disappointing PEC Zwolle team. Against AZ, who fired manager Maarten Martens one day after the 3-1 loss to PEC, the centre-half doubled the hosts' lead in the 26th minute and dominated in his personal duels, winning eight of nine.

DEF: Thijmen Blokzijl (FC Groningen) - 7.8

Thijmen Blokzijl gathered many fans from Eindhoven by scoring a title-deciding goal against Ajax in May, but heshowed on Sunday that he's more than just a crowd pleaser.

The young defender channelled his inner Franz Beckenbauer with a stylish rush through the heart of Heerenveen's defence that ended with Groningen's second goal of the loaded Derby of the North.

DEF: Sherel Floranus (PEC Zwolle) - 7.8

Sherel Floranus, who will defend the colours of debutants Curacao at this summer's FIFA World Cup, was an absolute star in defence in PEC's win over AZ. The multifunctional full-back won all six(!) of his tackles, the joint-second highest single-game total in the Eredivisie this season.

He also won eight of his 11 duels and provided the assist to Shola Shoretire's 3-1 in extra time. A glorious Sunday for Floranus.

MID: Davy Klaassen (Ajax) - 8.3

While it is evident that Davy Klaassen is past his absolute best at 32, it is undeniable that the midfielder can still be very, very effective in Ajax's midfield. Against Go Ahead Eagles, Klaassen spearheaded a dominant first half with a beautiful goal and also assisted Kasper Dolberg's 2-0.

Klaassen's goal, which marked a remarkable 32nd time that he scored the 1-0 for Ajax, was the highlight of his game, which also saw him win possession five times and complete 20 of 22 passes.

MID: Joey Veerman (PSV) - 8.6

Death, taxes, and Joey Veerman making our Eredivisie team of the Week.

PSV's midfield general was at it again for the reigning champions, completing 77 of 87 passes, an absolutely staggering 46(!) of which came in the final third. Veerman created a total of seven chances, but also won possession six times and won a tackle.

MID: Joshua Kitolano (Sparta) - 8.4

Joshua Kitolano, like compatriot Tobias Lauritsen, has been an incredibly steady force for Sparta. He more than proved his value against Feyenoord, too, scoring two goals, one of which a pearler from distance, and winning possession a team-leading 10 times. The Norwegian gets it done on both sides of the ball.

FW: Younes Namli (PEC Zwolle) - 9.2 (Player of the Week)

Younes Namli's return to PEC Zwolle was called lazy by some. A product of the 'old boys network' in the Eredivisie. Against AZ, Namli proved it was more than just merit that earned him his return to Zwolle.

The creative Dane was an absolute force to be reckoned with in his second game back in PEC's blue-and-white, completing a staggering seven dribbles, winning 10 total duels, winning possession seven times, leading PEC with 76 touches, creating three chances, and recording two assists in PEC's fourth-straight home win in the Eredivisie.

More than enough to earn him his first Player of the Week award. Welcome back, Younes!

FW: Shaqueel van Persie (Feyenoord) - 8.1

Shaqueel van Persie - yes, the son of Robin - made a more than excellent impression on Sunday. Despite Feyenoord losing 4-3 and the pressure on manager Robin van Persie growing, the 19-year-old Shaqueel wowed the stadium and everyone at home with a stunning brace.

Twenty minutes after coming on in the 63rd minute, Van Persie and Feyenoord found themselves in a pickle with Sparta up 3-1. That's when the young heir to the throne stepped in; Van Persie got Feyenoord back within one with an excellent backheel goal, the first of his professional career, soon after which the youngster scored his second with a spectacular bicycle kick. Truly exceptional.

FW: Moussa Soumano (NAC Breda) - 8.3

It's quite incredible to think that the Eredivisie saw not one, but two games end in 4-3 thrillers with bizarre endings. Moussa Soumano's NAC were shocked by NEC's last-minute winner in extra time, which cancelled out a brilliant brace from the Frenchman.

Especially his second goal, a truly beautifully curled effort from way outside the box, caught the eye of many. The forward was a jack of all trades, recording four won possessions, five won duels, one won tackle and interception, and one created chance.
