Welcome to another fascinating round of fixtures from the English Premier League. Round 24 includes Arsenal's trip to Elland Road, a London derby involving Chelsea and West Ham, and Liverpool vs Newcastle United on Saturday local time. There are four matches on Sunday, including Spurs vs Man City, before Sunderland host Burnley on Monday evening.

With long-term leaders Arsenal suffering a rare defeat last weekend, it allowed Man City, Aston Villa, Man Utd, and Chelsea to close the gap. Entering the weekend, just four points separate the top three teams. Can Arsenal hold their nerve and their position to improve on last season's near-miss? Mikel Arteta's side need a quick-fire return to winning ways.

The leading online bookmakers offer more than 100 pre-match markets on each of this weekend's Premier League games. You can stick to one match and target a profit, or add several picks to an accumulator and chase a nice win off a small stake. Keep reading as Flashscore's football writer Frank Monkhouse presents his EPL round 24 predictions.

Leeds vs Arsenal, Sunday 2:00am AEDT

Leeds vs Arsenal
Leeds vs ArsenalFlashscore

We open the show at Elland Road in Yorkshire, where Leeds United face table-topping Arsenal. We're looking at over 2.5 goals, and that's available at fair odds. The head-to-head stats available on the Flashscore app show over 2.5 goals landed when these teams met earlier this season at the Emirates Stadium in August, with Arsenal easing to a 5-0 victory.

Sticking with the H2H, over 2.5 goals was a winning bet in each of the previous two meetings, and four of five. In that time, the Londoners have won 4-1, 2-1, 4-1, and 5-0. Fans of the pacesetters would dearly love another comfortable victory and crucial three points, bringing them closer to the title. All we're concerned with is the number of goals scored.

Switching to the home team's recent results, Leeds scored six goals in five Premier League matches this month, including at this venue against Manchester United and Fulham. Arsenal beat Kairat 3-2 in London on Champions League duty in midweek, after losing by the same scoreline to Man Utd in the EPL. The Gunners scored five in four league starts in January.

Tip: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.90 (bet365)

Bet explanation: You need Leeds vs Arsenal to produce more than three goals.

Chelsea vs West Ham, Sunday, 4:30am AEDT

Chelsea vs West Ham
Chelsea vs West HamFlashscore

We're in London for our second big-match preview from round 24 of the Premier League season. Chelsea welcome neighbours West Ham United to Stamford Bridge for a London derby. We're backing Blues manager Liam Rosenior to continue his strong start to life in the Chelsea dugout, supporting the home team in the match-winner betting market.

A bet on Chelsea to beat West Ham came good when the teams met at the London Stadium earlier this season. The FIFA Club World Cup champions eased to a 5-1 victory and were 3-1 ahead at the break, proving their dominance. The head-to-head stats show Chelsea won each of their last four meetings with the Hammers, with an aggregate score of 15-2.

Looking at the home team's most recent games, we see Chelsea won each of their last two games in the EPL, beating Brentford 2-0 at this venue and Crystal Palace 3-1 at Selhurst Park. They also scored a 3-2 win over Napoli in Italy on Wednesday, fighting back from 2-1 down. West Ham won 2-1 at Spurs this month, but also lost 3-0 at bottom club Wolves.

Tip: Chelsea win @ 1.50 (bet365)

Bet explanation: Chelsea must defeat West Ham at Stamford Bridge.

Liverpool vs Newcastle, Sunday, 7:00am AEDT

Liverpool vs Newcastle
Liverpool vs NewcastleFlashscore

The third and final match previewed for the Saturday programme pairs Liverpool and Newcastle United at Anfield. When the Reds and Magpies go toe-to-toe in an EPL slugfest, it usually ends in goals, making over 2.5 goals in this renewal a confident pick. The Reds and Magpies shared five goals at St James' Park in their most recent game in the opening month of play.

Liverpool beat Newcastle 3-2 that day, and you may remember Rio Ngumoha climbed off the bench to score the winner in stoppage time following an action-packed end to the match. Newcastle levelled through William Osula with 88 minutes on the clock, before Liverpool's teenage winger won his team all three points. Armchair fans hope for plenty more drama.

A bet on over 2.5 goals landed in four of the previous five meetings. That run includes a 4-2 home win for Liverpool at Anfield. The individual form of both clubs adds weight to our pick. Liverpool thrashed Qarabag 6-0 here in the UCL on Wednesday, after losing 3-2 at Bournemouth in the league. Newcastle drew 1-1 in Paris and lost 2-0 at home to Aston Villa.

Tip: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.61 (bet365)

Bet explanation: Liverpool vs Newcastle must serve up at least three goals from both teams combined.

Aston Villa vs Brentford, Monday, 1:00am AEDT

Aston Villa vs Brentford
Aston Villa vs BrentfordFlashscore

Moving to Sunday, and we're in Birmingham for Aston Villa vs Brentford. The home team find themselves in a title race, sitting within touching distance of league leaders Arsenal. Unai Emery's big-hitters have won 14, drawn four, and lost five games, scoring 35 and conceding 25. We're backing the home win, and the odds available at bet365 are better than expected.

Aston Villa and Brentford have met twice already this season, with the Bees claiming three Premier League points at home with a 1-0 victory before ending 1-1 in the League Cup in the UK capital. Brentford are much stronger at home than on the road. They are the fourth-best team in the country on home form, but rank 16th in results on the road.

The form shows Aston Villa are much more comfortable with the backing of a home crowd. Only Man City and Arsenal have picked up more home points than Villa at this stage. They won 3-1 when Brentford were last in town, and beat Nottingham Forest by the same scoreline here in January. Villa also arrive on the back of a 2-0 win at St James' Park.

Tip: Aston Villa win @ 2.00 (bet365)

Bet explanation: The winning margin isn't important here. A victory for Aston Villa would secure you a profit.

Man Utd vs Fulham, Monday, 1:00am AEDT

Man Utd vs Fulham
Man Utd vs FulhamFlashscore

The Theatre of Dreams provides a fitting backdrop as Manchester United take on Fulham. The locals have catapulted themselves back into the fight for a top-four finish. A six-match unbeaten run for United consists of three wins and three draws, including victory in their previous two. They beat Man City 2-0 here and Arsenal 3-2 at the Emirates Stadium.

With Fulham also in great form, winning three and drawing two of six in the top tier, a competitive match awaits. We avoid picking sides and play for the value that exists in the total goals market, backing fewer than four. A bet on under 3.5 goals paid out in each of the previous four meetings in the EPL and FA Cup, a run stretching back to February 2024.

In those four games, we've seen two 1-1 draws and a pair of 1-0 wins for Man Utd. In their last three league games at Old Trafford, Man Utd beat Man City 2-0,  drew 1-1 with Wolves, and beat Newcastle 1-0. On the road, Fulham lost 1-0 at Elland Road, drew 1-1 at Selhurst Park, and beat West Ham United 1-0 at the London Stadium in the same period.

Tip: Under 3.5 goals @ 1.44 (bet365)

Bet explanation: You'll make a profit if Sunday's game ends with fewer than four goals scored.

Tottenham vs Man City, Monday, 3:30am AEDT

Tottenham vs Man City
Tottenham vs Man CityFlashscore

The sixth and final pick of this weekend's Premier League predictions comes from London. Tottenham Hotspur enjoy the home advantage, but are in a world of trouble. The pressure is mounting on manager Thomas Frank after his side dropped to 14th in the table. They need a response, and take heart from Wednesday's impressive win over Frankfurt in the UCL.

The form of both teams pushes bettors towards an away win, and I'm happy to follow. Manchester City won 1-0 on their most recent visit to Tottenham, with Erling Haaland scoring the only goal of the game on 12 minutes. Since suffering a shock defeat to Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League, Pep Guardiola's team scored 2-0 wins over Wolves and Galatasaray.

Tottenham are winless in five league starts, a drought that goes back to a 1-0 victory at Selhurst Park in late December. They last banked all three points at this venue eight weeks ago, beating Brentford 2-0. Since then, Spurs have lost to Liverpool, drawn with Sunderland, and slipped to a painful 2-1 London derby defeat to relegation-threatened West Ham.

Tip: Man City win @ 1.70 (bet365)

Bet explanation: You want Man City to bank a 15th Premier League win of the season.
