United are unbeaten in our last 25 league outings against promoted sides, winning 22 of those games. Amorim will take confidence from this, as well as how the Red Devils have also lost just one of their last 19 Premier League games against Leeds.
Amorim ready for the intense rivalry
Amorim, who will be aiming to push into the top four this weekend, first spoke on the intense rivalry between the two sides, which many argue comes from the War of the Roses hundreds of years ago.
"I never experienced this one. Different environment, different culture, but the noise is going to be big. It’s hard to compare different cultures, different derbies, histories.
"When you play for Manchester United, you need to be ready for everything. You guys have the best league in the world, every game you see there is a lot of draws, you never understand what is going to happen at the end of that week."
January will be slow for Man United
Questions then switched to the January transfer window, which is now, of course, open. Amorim was asked about incomings and outgoings, revealing that there will be very little business.
“The transfer window is not going to change, we have no conversation to have any change in the squad.
"There is a process, there is an idea - that is going to continue. We are near places of the Champions League but we are also near eight teams behind us, so let’s focus on the next game.
Has anyone has knocked on his door asking to leave the club: "No, none of them. I don’t expect them to come to me to ask (to leave)."
Academy players need to be ready
As the media looked towards new signings, Amorim was keen to touch upon academy stars who made headlines last month when he ripped into a number of players he said would not cut it in the first team.
He said a balance needs to be found to allow more opportunities for young players, as they need to be prepared.

“We will look to everything but they need to be prepared. You can see the squad, it is impossible and you cannot stretch the players we do not have in the moment.
"But of course I will try to pick the team that is ready to cope with that and then I will try to read the game and understand what I can do to help them to win the game.
“They have to (handle the atmosphere). It is a game in a hostile environment but they need to be ready. They need to experience that but it is going to be hard for any player - even the guys with a lot of experience but, again, we have already experienced that.
"Bilbao last year was amazing, the sound, I know that feeling is completely different but we need to be ready.”
