As the 2025/26 season enters its final chapter across Europe, the reward for players who step up and produce stellar performances for their team can have seismic impacts on title races, relegation battles or the fight for European qualification. Some big-name players did just that over a thrilling weekend of football to secure their place in the Team of the Week.

Based on Flashscore's internal ratings system, this is the best XI from the weekend action in the world's biggest leagues.

Goalkeeper:

Janis Blaswich (Bayer Leverkusen) - 8.6

Bayer Leverkusen secured a vital win towards Champions League qualification on Saturday afternoon, but it simply wouldn't have been possible if Blaswich wasn't in inspired form between the posts.

The experienced shot-stopper made eight saves to help Leverkusen to a 2-1 win over FC Koln in the Rhine Derby. According to Opta, from his eight saves, Blaswich faced an xGOT of 2.1 and prevented one goal - and a key one that could have made the difference between victory and a frustrating draw.

Defenders:

Ramy Bensebaini (Borussia Dortmund ) - 9.3

Bensebaini has been a threat all season in the opposition box, and the defender was once again at the weekend as Dortmund thrashed Freiburg 4-0.

The centre-back set up his side's first goal after a pinpoint ball downfield fell perfectly for Maximilian Beier to score.

His day got even better when he pounced on a dangerous Dortmund corner to fire a bullet header past the keeper. A goal, an assist and a clean sheet to help Dortmund confirm Champions League football next season - not a bad day at the office.

Joachim Andersen (Fulham) - 8.9

The ever-reliable Anderson was a rock at the back as Fulham edged past Aston Villa 1-0 on Saturday lunchtime to keep their slim European qualification hopes alive. Anderson produced an imperious performance at the back in helping Fulham keep a clean sheet, winning three out of three aerial duels, five out of seven ground duels and making four tackles.

Anderson was in no mood to let dangerman Ollie Watkins have a say for the visitors and did a great job at keeping the in-form striker quiet.

Nolan Norris (FC Dallas) - 9.1

Over to the MLS, and 21-year-old centre-back Norris is a rare example of a player making the Team of the Week despite being on the losing team. FC Dallas lost 2-1 away to Seattle Sounders despite Norris' best efforts to help his side secure a positive result.

Norris scored just before half-time to bring Dallas back into the contest after they found themselves 2-0 down early on. He also played a crucial role in ensuring Dallas didn't fall further behind after winning six aerial dules, three ground dules and two tackles in a standout defensive display.

Midfielders:

Philip Zinckernagel (Chicago Fire) - 9.7

Sticking with the MLS, Zinckernagel had a game to remember as the Chicago Fire made light work of Sporting Kansas City in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Zinckernagel scored the first two goals and set up the third to help Chicago to a commanding 5-0 victory, a win that leaves them in third place in the Eastern Conference.

Lucas Beraldo (PSG) - 9.7

Beraldo took full advantage of a rare Ligue 1 start for the Parisian giants at Angers as Luis Enrique selected a rested side ahead of a crucial Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich.

Beraldo produced a complete midfield performance with an impressive 94% pass accuracy, including 15 successful passes in the final third, whilst also winning three duels to help his side protect their lead. Beraldo completed a brilliant display with a second-half goal to round off a routine 3-0 win.

Casemiro (Manchester United) - 9.1

It has turned into a remarkable farewell season for Casemiro at Man United, and the Brazilian was in fine form once again as United edged past Brentford on Monday night football. Casemiro scored his ninth goal of the Premier League season to put Michael Carrick's side ahead early on after scoring his sixth goal from a corner this campaign.

Aside from his classy headed finish, Casemiro was excellent and played an important role out of possession, too, as he won a staggering 13 ground duels and made four tackles.

It goes without saying Manchester United will miss the experienced Brazilian's qualities in and out of possession next season.

Forwards:

Kang-In Lee (PSG) - 9.2

Just like his teammate Beraldo, Kang-In Lee took full advantage of Luis Enrique's rotation in PSG's victory at Angers.

The South Korean forward was a constant menace for Angers, and it took him just seven minutes to fire his side ahead. Lee completed a great individual performance by setting up fellow Team of the Week star Beraldo for the third and final goal.

Gauthier Hein (Metz) - 9.2

Hein is not a prolific striker, but the forward was in inspired form on Sunday for Metz, who were involved in a thrilling 4-4 draw against Le Havre in Ligue 1. Hein set up Metz's equaliser in the ninth minute before putting his side in front from the spot deep into stoppage time at the end of the first half.

Hein's most important contribution came late on, however, as the forward completed his brace to make it 4-4 at the end of a pulsating contest.

Roman Yaremchuk (Lyon) - 8.9

Yaremchuk delivered a match-winning display for Lyon against Auxerre to help his side push towards Champions League qualification.

The big Ukrainian forward scored Lyon's first goal early on and then again to put them 3-1 up and out of sight late on. What is most impressive about that is that Yaremchuk only had three shots in the match, and his two shots on target both ended in goals, so it was a clinical performance.

Umut Bozok (Eyupspor) - 9.4

Eyupspor continued their quest to remain in the Turkish Super Lig with a massive 3-0 victory over Gaziantep, with Umut Bozok stealing the show.

The Turkish striker scored a goal and registered two assists, and was a constant menace. He had five shots and nine touches in the opposition box - both more than anyone on the pitch.

The win saw Eyupspor move out of the relegation zone - a real boost for their survival hopes.
