Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is hoping Erling Haaland recovers in time for the weekend after the striker limped off during Sunday’s hard-fought 1-1 draw with Arsenal.

The Norwegian forward caused concern at the Emirates when he signaled to the bench in the 76th minute, complaining of sharp back pain.

With little choice, Guardiola substituted his star striker, sparking worry ahead of another demanding stretch of fixtures for City.

"Recovery yesterday (Monday), he didn't train and I didn't see him and the rest of the players yet today,” Guardiola said.

“Hopefully he can play at the weekend. It's been such a demanding week, the last game especially, and sometimes the players have problems. I think he will be fine for the weekend. I hope so."

City are next in Premier League action against Burnley on Saturday, September 27th.
