Aston Villa’s dark start to the season took a turn for the better with a win in Europe in midweek, but their mettle will be tested again when they come up against Fulham.
Match News and Current Form
Confidence appeared low in the Villa camp prior to their UEFA Europa League encounter with Bologna on Thursday, but despite failing to win any of their first six domestic matches this term (D3, L3), the Villains managed to grind out a gutsy 1-0 win in front of their fans. The home supporters would gladly take another scrappy win if offered here in Premier League action, and even a goal would make them happy given that another failure to find the net would see their side go scoreless in their opening three home league games of a top-flight campaign for the first time since 1946/47!
Visitors Fulham pulled off a similar victory in midweek League Cup action, when they got the job done to advance with a 1-0 win over fourth-tier Cambridge. That was the Cottagers’ fourth victory in their last five games (L1), a run that has also featured back-to-back Premier League victories, setting up Marco Silva’s men to potentially win three top-flight matches in succession for the first time since January 2023.
Head-to-Head History
Villa have won each of the last five H2Hs and boast a six-match winning streak against Fulham at Villa Park. The Cottagers’ only victory in their last 21 league visits to Villa Park came in April 2014.

Key Players to Watch and Missing Players
Morgan Rogers could be the man to net Villa's first league goal of the season at Villa Park since nine of his last 11 goals came at home, while he also scored against Fulham last season. Harry Wilson could pose a late threat here as seven of his last eight Premier League goals came beyond the 65th minute.
Villa will continue without Amadou Onana, but his Belgian compatriot Youri Tielemans has an outside chance of featuring. Fulham seem to have no injury concerns.
