Yesterday was an action-packed one, from the beginning until the very end. From upsets, surprising results and drama on the court. We have seen enough over the past few rounds to make us all the more excited for yet another day of Roland Garros tennis! Stay tuned as we bring you the latest from Paris here on our Tennis Tracker.

00:20 CET - Rather improbably and not with his best performance, Alexander Zverev (26) has outlasted Frances Tiafoe (25) over four sets to head into the last 16 at Roland Garros - one year to the day since he severely injured his ankle on the same court he won on tonight.

The German needed three hours and 45 minutes to see off Tiafoe and win their contest 3-6, 7-6, 6-1, 7-6.

22:03 CET - Ons Jabeur (28) was given a fright by Olga Danilovic (22), but in the end battled to come out on top 4-6, 6-4, 6-2.

21:58 CET - Grigor Dimitrov (32) looked in fine form as he eases past Daniel Altmaier (24) 6-4, 6-3, 6-1 to reach the second week of a Slam for the first time since the Australian Open in 2021. The Bulgarian seems to be going under the radar at the minute - could he make a deep run at Roland Garros?

19:30 CET - Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko (24) had absolutely no problem against Bianca Andreescu (22), obliterating her Canadian opponent 6-1, 6-1.

19:27 CET - Francisco Cerundolo (24) is into the last 16 of a Grand Slam for the first time, after overpowering Taylor Fritz (25) 3-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-5 in impressive fashion. He will face Holger Rune next (20).

18:09 CET - A few more results have come in from Paris. Beatriz Haddad Maia (27) has beaten Ekaterina Alexandrova (28) in a brilliant contest, winning 5-7, 6-4, 7-5. Bernarda Pera (28) is also into the fourth round, defeating Elisabetta Cocciaretto (22) 6-4, 7-6(2). And finally, Anna Karolina Schmiedlova (28) cruised past Kayla Day (23) 6-1, 6-3.

16:25 CET - The imperious Iga Swiatek (22) continues to show why she is such a powerhouse on the clay courts of Roland Garros, obliterating Xinyu Wang (21) 6-0 6-0 in just 52 minutes. Remarkably, it was Swiatek's 12th and 13th bagel of 2023, and her third and fourth of this tournament. Her last three sets read: 6-0, 6-0, 6-0. Can anyone stop her from winning yet another French Open?

16:15 CET - Last year's finalist Coco Gauff (19) has outlasted fellow teenager Mirra Andreeva (16) 6-7(5), 6-1, 6-1 to make the fourth round. Despite being just 19, Gauff's experience over the youngest person left in the tournament showed despite dropping a thrilling first set, taking control of the contest in the final two sets to completely turn the match on its head.

16:07 CET - Nicolas Jarry (27) has continued his deepest run into a Grand Slam, defeating Marcos Giron (29) 6-2, 6-3, 6-7(7), 6-3 to reach the fourth round.

Meanwhile, world No.16 Borna Coric (26) has been dumped out in straight sets by Tomas Martin Etcheverry (23) - who had never won a main draw match at Roland Garros before this year. The Argentinean won 6-3, 7-6(5), 6-2.

15:07 CET - Holger Rune's (20) good clay form continues as he progresses to the fourth round after defeating Genaro Alberto Olivieri (24) with three straight sets, 6-4, 6-1, 6-3.

14:56 CET - The fairytale came to an end for Thiago Seyboth Wild (23). The qualifier who knocked Daniil Medvedev (27) out of the French Open first round has just exited the tournament after losing 3-6, 7-6, 2-6, 6-4, 6-0 to Yoshihito Nishioka (27).

13:55 CET - Casper Ruud (24) faced an early scare against Chinese player Zhizhen Zhang (26) when the Dane lost the opening set 6-4, but rallied well as the fourth seed won in four sets 4-6, 6-4, 6-1, 6-4, advancing to the second week at Roland Garros in the process.

12:01 CET - Fourth seed Elena Rybakina (23) has withdrawn from the French Open through illness this morning. The Kazakh player has looked in fine form throughout the first week of the tournament, but she will be unable to continue at Roland Garros. Her scheduled oponent for Saturday, Sara Sorribes Tormo (26) has advanced via walkover.

7:44 CET - Spanish world number one Carlos Alcaraz (20) delivered a confident self-assessment in his first Grand Slam as the top seed after booking his fourth-round spot on Friday, saying he was the complete article.

Alcaraz stormed past Canada's Denis Shapovalov with a 6-,1 6-4, 6-2 demolition to set up a fourth-round match against Italy's Lorenzo Musetti.

"I am a complete player," Alcaraz told a press conference when asked his strongest point as a player.

"I would say the stronger thing that I have on court is push to the limit. I push the opponent to the limit every time."

Alcaraz became the youngest world number one when he was 19 last year. He is also the youngest top seed in Paris since Bjorn Borg back in 1976.

7:02 CET - Casper Ruud was faced with the incredibly challenging task of defeating Rafa Nadal in last year's final, one he failed to complete. This time around, ranked at number four, the Norwegian will be aiming for a different end to the story as he takes on Zhizhen Zhang to reach the final 16.

On-fire youngster Holger Rune continues his good form as he aims for another clay final. Before thinking about that, however, he will have to get past Argentinian Genaro Alberto Olivieri. Another Argentine facing a tough draw is Francisco Cerundolo who fell to world number eight Taylor Fritz.

Meanwhile, in the WTA world, last year's runner up Coco Gauff starts the day against teenage prodigy Mirra Andreeva. Current French Open champion and world number one Iga Swiatek continues her attempt at protecting her title, next step: getting past Xinyu Wang.

Indian Wells champion and Australian Open finalist Elena Rybakina is another favourite to win this tournament. The world number four starts the day off vs Sara Sorribe Tormo. Ons Jabeur is also challenging Olga Danilovic for a spot in the next round.
