A rematch of one of last season’s two UEFA Europa League (UEL) semi-finals sees Bodø/Glimt host Tottenham in the league phase of the UEFA Champions League (UCL).

Match News and Current Form

Bodø/Glimt overcame a nervous start to record a successful UCL debut when coming from behind to record a draw at Slavia Prague, becoming the first Norwegian club since Molde in 1999 to overcome a two-goal deficit in a UCL fixture. They can ill afford a similarly sluggish start against much tougher opposition here, and a record of ten wins from their last 12 European home games (L2) does at least stand them in good stead for this fixture despite the fact Spurs were one of the sides who beat them in that period.

Tottenham are again contending with an injury crisis, but it didn’t offer manager Thomas Frank any excuses after they drew 1-1 at home to Wolves at the weekend. That was only the second time this season that they dropped points as favourites in any competition (W4, D1, L1), but one of those four wins did come in their UCL opener as they squeezed past Villarreal 1-0. Frank now has the opportunity to become the first Tottenham manager to win his first two UCL games in charge following unsuccessful attempts from four predecessors.

Head-to-Head History

Tottenham won both legs of last season’s UEL semis (2-0 away and 3-1 home) and boast six wins from six against Norwegian opposition. Bodø/Glimt lost all five of their competitive games against English clubs, their worst losing record against sides from a single nation.

Hot Stats and Streaks

Bodø/Glimt conceded in each of their last six competitive matches.

Bodø/Glimt scored 2+ goals in five of their last six UEL home games.

Tottenham scored in 15 of their 16 UEFA matches since the start of 2024/25.

Tottenham’s last seven wins in all competitions were accompanied by a clean sheet.

Key Players to Watch and Missing Players

Jens Hauge has scored in four of his last five competitive games, with his last goal serving as his only one from his last seven at club level to arrive after the hour mark. Xavi Simons is still awaiting his first goal for Spurs, but with 2+ shots to his name in six of his last seven UCL games, this competition might be the place for him to break through.

Ulrik Saltnes remains sidelined for Bodø/Glimt. Dominic Solanke and Randal Kolo Muani remain in doubt for Tottenham after missing the weekend’s game.

Betting Analysis

Bodø/Glimt have been historically strong at home in Europe, but backing a Tottenham win with a clean sheet seems a logical bet after last season’s H2H result.
