Real Madrid are looking to extend their perfect two-game start to the new UEFA Champions League (UCL) campaign against Juventus in a re-run of the 2017 UCL final.

Match News and Current Form

With two victories to start their UCL campaign, which saw the Spanish giants net seven goals, Real Madrid have already bettered their UCL start from last term. That puts them in line to register three victories from their opening three matches for the third time across the last four editions, and Xabi Alonso’s men will be confident of doing so as they’re on a perfect five-game winning run at home this season across all competitions (W5), including a 2-1 victory over Marseille in their UCL opener. Real stretched their winning streak to three games with a 1-0 win over Getafe at the weekend in their first match back after the international break.

Juventus have started this UCL campaign with back-to-back stalemates, which formed part of a five-game run of draws across all competitions (D5), a streak which came to an end at the weekend at Como when Juventus suffered a 2-0 defeat to extend their winless run even further. Worryingly for the visitors, Juventus are winless in five consecutive away UCL matches (D4, L1) since their opening such match last season. Their current away form doesn’t look much better, as Juventus have won just once on the road this term (D2, L1) - back in August - conceding before the break in each of their last three such outings.

Head-to-Head History

These two sides have a long history of mutual matches starting in the early 1960s, with Real Madrid winning 12 of the 22 competitive H2Hs (D2, L8). Real have also won three of the last four competitive meetings starting with the UCL final in 2017, while they also beat Juventus in the quarter-finals at the FIFA Club World Cup in July.
