Kreider scored twice in New York's three-goal first period before assisting on a K'Andre Miller tally in the midst of a deciding three-goal run that spanned both sides of the second intermission for a 6-3 lead.
Jimmy Vesey and Artemi Panarin each had a goal and an assist, and Vincent Trocheck added an assist for the Rangers, who are 13-1-1 over their last 15 games. Nick Bonino and Tyler Pitlick added their first goals as Rangers, while Jonathan Quick made 27 saves.
Charlie Coyle scored twice while Morgan Geekie had a goal and an assist for Boston, which has lost consecutive games in regulation. The Bruins' David Pastrnak also scored and James van Riemsdyk dished two assists. Linus Ullmark (33 saves) allowed seven goals.

Goaltender Pheonix Copley authored his third career shutout as Los Angeles defeated visiting Montreal for the fifth straight time. On a fairly light day of work, the 31-year-old Copley made 18 saves to win his second straight start. It was his first shutout since beating the Pittsburgh Penguins 6-0 last Feb. 11.
Trevor Moore scored two goals, while Carl Grundstrom and Trevor Lewis added one each. Pierre-Luc Dubois recorded two assists as the Kings won for the ninth time in 11 games (9-1-1) and improved to 8-1-1 in November.
Winless in his previous four appearances, Montreal's Jake Allen got the start and made 26 saves, but his club was held scoreless for the first time and fell to 2-5-0 since Nov. 12.
Devils 7, Sabres 2
New Jersey scored four times in the first period and never looked back against visiting Buffalo.
Tyler Toffoli finished with two goals and Alexander Holtz, Nico Hischier, Ondrej Palat and Dawson Mercer each had a goal and an assist for the Devils, who snapped a three-game skid and won for just the second time in their past eight games. Vitek Vanecek made 10 saves.
Jeff Skinner and Kyle Okposo scored for the Sabres, who continue to alternate wins and losses. Eric Comrie allowed four goals on 18 shots before he was replaced by Devon Levi (17 saves) to start the second period.
Penguins 3, Maple Leafs 2
Erik Karlsson scored the go-ahead goal in the final minute of the second period as Pittsburgh snapped a two-game losing streak by beating visiting Toronto.
Jake Guentzel and Noel Acciari also scored for the Penguins, who had lost four of their past five games.
Tyler Bertuzzi and Matthew Knies scored for the Maple Leafs, who twice had a one-goal lead. Toronto's point streak ended at five games (4-0-1).
Flyers 1, Islanders 0 (SO)
Tyson Foerster scored in the fourth round of the shootout as Philadelphia outlasted New York in Elmont, N.Y.
The teams combined for 65 shots in regulation and overtime before each opened 0-for-3 in the shootout. After the Flyers' Samuel Ersson stopped Kyle Palmieri, Foerster -- taking just his second career attempt in a shootout -- shuffled the puck several times before sending a forehand over the glove of Ilya Sorokin.
Sorokin recorded 40 as the Islanders had their three-game winning streak snapped but extended their point streak to six games (3-0-3). The shutout was his second of the season and the 18th of his career.
Avalanche 3, Flames 1
Nathan MacKinnon had a goal and an assist, Jonathan Drouin and Ryan Johansen also scored, and Colorado beat Calgary in Denver.
Ivan Prosvetov turned away 29 shots for Colorado, which has won six of its last seven games.
Mikael Backlund had a goal and Dan Vladar made 21 saves for Calgary.

Mikael Granlund and Mike Hoffman both scored early in the third period to cap two-point nights as host San Jose claimed its fourth win of the season by beating Vancouver.
Ty Emberson scored his first career NHL goal and Fabian Zetterlund also tallied for the Sharks, who sit last in the league. Goaltender Kaapo Kahkonen made 30 saves, while Tomas Hertl and Calen Addison each tallied two assists.
Brock Boeser scored twice and Filip Hronek collected one goal and one assist for the Canucks. Goalie Casey DeSmith stopped 18 shots, and J.T. Miller collected three assists.
Coyotes 2, Golden Knights 0
Connor Ingram made 34 saves for his second career shutout as Arizona snapped a three-game losing streak by blanking Vegas in Las Vegas.
Lawson Crouse scored his 10th goal of the season, all in November, and Clayton Keller also scored for Arizona. It was Ingram's first shutout of the season. He has won five of his last six starts.
Logan Thompson finished with 16 saves for Vegas, which was shut out for the third time in its last six games. The Golden Knights, who opened the season with an 11-0-1 run, fell to 3-5-1 over their last nine games and lost for just the second time in regulation (8-2-1) at home this season.
