It's the second straight sets win in as many days for the number two seeds, following their 6-3, 6-3 victory over Nelson Borges and Zhang Zhizhen in the opening round. The pair are now one win away from equalling their best performance at Roland Garros.
A pair of double faults in his first service game from Marozsan presented Heliovaara and Patten with an early chance, which they took, breaking serve to go 2-1 ahead before the Finn held serve. There was no let up from the favourites, who then forced Bellucci into errors and broke serve again.
Patten then held to go 5-1 ahead, and with the pressure getting to him, a pair of unforced errors from the Hungarian Marozsan was enough for Heliovaara and Patten to win a sixth game in a row and take the first set, 6-1.
The Italian-Hungarian duo came out fighting in the second set, twice forcing deuce in the opening game off Patten's serve, but the Essex man held off the challenge in the end. The next two games went with serve before normal service appeared to be resuming, as the seeds broke Bellucci's serve without dropping a point.
But not only did the underdogs save three break points in game six, they then saved match point in game eight and shocked their opponents by breaking back in game nine, as Patten was guilty of a double fault followed by two unforced errors.
However, in the next game, Heliovaara and Patten responded in the best way possible, winning the match by breaking the serve of the Hungarian, taking the set 6-4.
The 6-1, 6-4 victory takes the former Wimbledon and Australian Open champions through to the Third Round, where they will play the winners of Andre Goransson/Evan King vs Diego Hidalgo/Patrik Trhac.
