Mark Allen (37) has been named the World Snooker Tour's Player of the Year for the first time after winning three tournaments in the 2022/23 season.

Allen was the only player during the campaign to win three trophies with his honours coming at the Northern Ireland Open, UK Championship and World Grand Prix.

The world number three, who also reached the British Open final, was also named the Snooker Journalists’ Player of the Year and Fans' Player of the Year.

"Very happy to have won this award. Thanks to everyone who voted for me. Will do my best to keep going into next season and beyond," Northern Irishman Allen said on Twitter.

The Performance of the Year award was scooped up by Luca Brecel (28) after his stunning display in his 18-15 win over Mark Selby (39) to claim the World Championship title.

Selby himself came away with an award in the form of the Magic Moment of the Year for becoming the first player to ever record a maximum 147 break in the Sheffield final.
