18:28 CET - Novak Djokovic would have hoped to be putting his feet up at this point in the day, but Lorenzo Musetti and the weather have had other ideas.

After losing the first set 6-4, the Italian won the second 7-5 - winning five of the last six games with some excellent tennis - to force the match into a decider.

Just two games into the final set, with both players holding serve, rain has started to fall and play has been suspended.

16:53 CET - Jiri Lehecka pulled off an upset when he beat Grigor Dimitrov yesterday, but he wasn't able to do so again today, although he did put up a good fight. Eighth seed Taylor Fritz (25) has prevailed in three sets, 4-6, 6-4, 6-1.

The American will play Tsitsipas in the next round.

15:32 CET - Stefanos Tsitsipas (24), the winner of the last two Monte Carlo Masters, came into this year's tournament as one of the favourites and remains one after securing his place in the last eight with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Nicolas Jarry.

14:43 CET - Andrey Rublev has won an all-Russian clash with Karen Khachanov, prevailing 7-6, 6-2 in just over 90 minutes. Next up for him is Struff.

13:30 CET - The clash between seventh and 10th seeds Jannik Sinner and Hubert Hurkacz always looked likely to be a tight one and it proved to be just that, with the former winning 3-6, 7-6, 6-1.

He's been joined in the quarter-finals by fellow youngster Holger Rune, who has automatically advanced following the injury-induced withdrawal of Matteo Berrettini.

12:09 CET - World number four Casper Ruud was on the unfortunate end of an upset as he was shown the Monte Carlo exit by Jan-Lennard Struff after a 6-1, 7-6 defeat.

09:55 CET - The main focus in the world of tennis this week has been on Monte Carlo, but elsewhere, new mother Elina Svitolina (28) has ramped up her return to action with a win at the ITF tournament in Chiasso, Switzerland.

Svitolina returned to the WTA Tour at the Charleston Open last week following the birth of her daughter Skai with husband and fellow tennis player Gael Monfils (36) and lost a tough three-setter against Yulia Putintseva (28).
