16:55 CET - Away from Monte Carlo, the Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers have been taking place.

Grand Slam champions Elena Rybakina (23) and Barbora Krejcikova (27) comfortably won their opening matches to help Kazakhstan and the Czech Republic take 2-0 leads in their Billie Jean King Cup Qualifiers on Friday.

Kazakhstan stamped their authority over Poland on clay at home, taking full advantage of world number one Iga Swiatek's absence due to injury as Yulia Putintseva (28) stunned Magda Linette (31) 7-5 6-3 before Rybakina doubled their advantage.

The reigning Wimbledon champion fired nine aces and won three out of six break points in her 6-3 6-4 victory over Weronika Falkowska (22) to put Kazakhstan in full control ahead of the final day's action.

The best-of-five qualifiers will feature two singles matches on Friday and two reverse singles matches on Saturday along with a doubles rubber.

16:35 CET - Three quarter-finals completed today, and all three have been straight-set matches. Holger Rune (19) is the next man through, after easing past Daniil Medvedev (27) 6-3 6-4. The Russian was no match for the Dane on a surface he has notoriously struggled on, while Rune looked totally at home.

15:41 CET - See what Fritz had to say following his impressive victory.

The first set proved to be a stroll in the park for Rublev, but the second was a much tighter affair, with the German upping his level. However, Rublev found a way to clinch the tiebreak and secured the win.
