Ezri Konsa is expected to complete his move from Aston Villa on Friday, with Arsenal now turning their attention to finding their dream forward.

Arsenal identified Konsa as a player who can provide reliable depth across their back line, and a deal became possible after the Gunners negotiated a fee with Aston Villa down to an initial £51 million.

But Arsenal's summer business is not yet finished. They could yet cap an impressive window with the perfect final addition.

Sources say the Gunners are still determined to find an elite forward to complete a squad that is already in an enviable position heading into the new season.

Arsenal are reigning champions, have just beaten Manchester City 3-0 in the Community Shield, and have added Bruno Guimaraes and Christos Tzolis to their ranks. Their manager is now the longest-serving boss in the Premier League, while there is growing optimism around the club that this could be the beginning of something special.

But there is one major piece still missing.

Well-placed insiders have confirmed that Arsenal remain very much driven to bring in another attacking player who can provide an additional boost for the new campaign.

The club have explored a number of possibilities this summer, including Morgan Rogers and Vinicius Jr, while Julian Alvarez has remained a player they would love to convince to return to the Premier League.

Alvarez's future at Atletico Madrid is increasingly precarious, making the Argentina international an especially attractive option for Arsenal. The Gunners have been keen to explore whether a deal could still be possible.

Victor Osimhen was also touted to Arsenal last week in a move that emerged somewhat out of the blue. However, the club ultimately decided not to act on that opportunity.

Other attackers to have been mentioned in connection with Arsenal include Marcus Rashford, Iliman Ndiaye, Rafael Leao, Bradley Barcola and Nico Williams.

The preference, though, is that Arsenal would ideally like to sign a player capable of operating centrally and giving them another genuine elite option through the middle.

With Konsa's deal in the final stages and much of the squad already in place, the focus is therefore turning back towards the forward position.

Arsenal have made significant moves already but there is still a feeling that one more major attacking addition could take this team to another level.
